pets - not all characters have them, but for rangers it is an animal companion, for mages it's their humanoid familiar, for necromancers it's their frankenstein (once they collect enough corpses to build it), for warlocks its their demon, and so on.

scarring - a very poor case, these appear only from death and can be removed at a cost.
