Gameplay is reminiscent of Fury of the Furries (when played solo) and somewhat of Lost Vikings (when played by 2 or 3 people). Pontius works as the shield carrying dimwitted heavy hitter, Zoya as the grappling hook flinging archer, and Amadeus as some odd third-party who can create and levitate objects. Although playing solo the cooperative nature is lost as you're forced to use whichever character can maneuver through the obstacles alone (switching between them when necessary), while in coop you can pair up powers to reach places you can't alone or finding solutions to problems impossible with single character. The three are tied together by an object Amadeus thinks is called the Trine, which also explains why the three are working together (instead of going their separate ways as they seem to be eager to; the demo was a bit vague on how thoroughly tied they are).
