Mixes horizontal shooter stages with 'top-down shooter'ones unlike the future TF games which were hardcore sidescroller shooters. It was released for Sega Saturn along with TF 3 (Thunder Force Gold Pack 1).
There's also an X68000 version of this game with extra levels and better graphics.
