Originally developed for Thorn EMI Computer Software, the rights were sold to Mastertronic after Thorn EMI Computer Software went out of buisness.
The game was published by Activision in the US, and was renamed 'Countdown to Shutdown'.
A clone of this game was made using Gary Kitchen's Gamemaker by Cleophus Davis III, called "Deadline" (not the Infocom game). Coincidentally, Countdown to Shutdown was published by Activision, who also made GKGM.
