1941 - Counter Attack Hudson Soft (Capcom)19911941: Counter Attack is a vertical scrolling shooter arcade game by Capcom, released in February 1990. It was the second sequel to 1942, and the third game in the 19XX series. It was ported to the SuperGrafx in 1991 and to GameTap.

The goal is to shoot down enemy airplanes and collect weapon power-ups (POW). The game uses a vitality system instead of life system in which if the player is hit, it loses one point of vitality and the player is destroyed if hit with 0 vitality then the player is given the option to continue. Lightning attacks can be used by pressing the B button which sacrifices a portion of life energy. One is only able to perform three loops per level and a bonus is awarded at the end of the level for unused loops. Player 1 uses a P-38 Lightning and Player 2 uses a new plane: DH.98 Mosquito. The game shifts from the original Pacific Front setting with that of the Western Front, in the north Atlantic Ocean.

It was the first shoot 'em up to add +1 to the score when a continue is used.***

[52]***The positive aspect of this classic vertical-scrolling shooting game are the good play controls. On the negative side stands the repetitive stage and enemy design. Over 30 levels is much for an old shooting game, but after a few stages you have virtually seen everything the game has to offer. And in later stages with many enemies on screen the game begins to flicker annoyingly. Still quite an improvement over other classic shooters like [game=#8480]Xevious[/game].***This game is great its just your plane and you fighting planes for 34 or so levels.
Watch out for the sand and the planes that circle you and come out you from behiend

1942 Capcom (Digital Eclipse)2000Fly into the face of danger. It's 1942. It's the classic shooter. It's one of history's most popular scrolling games and now it's coming to you on the Game Boy Color System. Take to the skies in this time honored vertical scrolling shooter to dodge enemy fire, execute loops and pick up devastating power-ups. It features 32 action-packed daring levels.***
[100]***Take off from a carrier in the fateful year of 1942 and island-hop through 32 increasingly daunting levels, culminating in aerial combat over Tokyo. Gameplay in this overhead shooter is simple: blast enemies, snag power-ups and avoid collisions before re-landing on your flattop.

If you mow down planes in a formation, you'll receive one of six different power-ups, beginning with the double machine gun. Another power-up will obliterate all on-screen enemies.

As you advance on Tokyo, you'll be faced with bigger and badder swarms of enemy craft. Evade troublemakers by pressing the A Button to loop. It's best to avoid ambushes by staying near the screen's center.

Two can play 1942 by alternating turns. You can print out top scores with the Game Boy Printer.

1942 is compatible with Game Boy Color or GBA units only.

1944: The Loop Master Capcom (Eighting;Raizing)2000This is the 5th original part in Capcom's 194X series of top-down shoot'em ups. This time you have the choice to board the P-38 Lightning or Mitsubishi A6M Zero WWII planes and test your shooting skills in 15 stages.

Like its predecessor, 19XX: The War Against Destiny, it features a charge up system. When holding down the fire button, the charge bar will fill, and when full, the plane will fly up and become temporarily invincible.

Players start out with only one life. The plane has a health bar which decreases after every hit but can be increased again by picking up (rare) health items.

19XX: The War Against Destiny Capcom199619XX: The War Against Destiny is a 2D vertical scrolling shooter game taking place against a fictional background, unlike the preceding installments of the series, which used a World War II setting.

The game offers three planes to choose from - Lightning, Mosquito and Shinden. Each aircraft has it's own statistics and special weapon. As usual, there are upgrades and a supply of bombs. The bombs can be charged up for more powerful effects.

Another familiar element are boss battles at the end of stages, where a particularly strong enemy must be defeated to advance.

Now Aladdin will have the chance to spoil Jafar's devious plans and win the hand of the beautiful princess Jasmine. But it will take more than magic to make his wishes come true...***
[27]***The Super NES version of Aladdin is vastly different from its Genesis and Game Gear cousins. It's a well-done platformer that generally follows the plot of the movie (with a few extra stages). The only downside is that it is far too easy and most gamers will likely beat it in a day or two.
[Jacquismo]***I've always loved Disney platformers, and this one is no exception. The music is great. The graphics look great for a 2-D platformer. The scrolling is as smooth as it can be. The control is nice and responsive. And for a platformer, this is as good as it gets. I played this when I was really young like crazy. This game is great!

Alien vs Predator Capcom1994Alien vs. Predator is a 2D side scrolling beat'em up based on the Alien and Predator film franchises. Up to three players can pick from four characters to kill alien hordes and human enemies: there are two cybernetically enhanced humans (Major Dutch Schaefer, based on Arnold Schwarzenegger's character from Predator, and Lieutenant Linn Kurosawa) and 2 Predators (Warrior and Hunter).

All characters are equipped with a gun for ranged attacks, and three also have melee weapons: Linn has a katana, the Hunter has a bladed staff, and the Warrior has an extendable-retractable spear/staff. Dutch uses a cybernetic arm instead of a weapon. Gameplay is typical for the genre - players must walk to the right, kill all enemies, and defeat bosses.
[Moby Games]***Best game concept I have ever seen to this date. Basic Final Fight genre. One of first to incorperate Street Fighter II moves with side-scroller genre.
