You read character descriptions and have to answer some questions. If you answer correctly you will be able to watch some small cutscenes and read the next set of character descriptions. And this goes on and on for a dozen times and thats all. Gameplay-wise I was very disappointed. But considering that this was one of the early CD-ROM games I could understand if you were pretty amazed back then by the amount of graphics and clear CD-music.	PC Engine CD

Binary Land	Hudson Soft	1985	In Binary Land you control two cute penguins simultaneously through a maze. At the beginning you decide which bird you control directly resulting in the other bird having a mirrored control scheme. That means when you run left with the first bird, the second bird would run right. Both birds start from different locations in the maze and the goal is that both birds reach the heart on the middle top of the maze at the same time. I found the concept really refreshing. With enemies roaming the maze you have to keep a good look for both birds at the same time. There are lots of mazes and the difficulty level raises just in the right amount, starting with easy mazes and getting slowly more difficult ones.	NES

Blodia	Hudson Soft	1990	Blodia is a nice little puzzle game for the PC-Engine, with a similar concept as the more well known Pipe Dream. It is actually based on an older more or less completely unknown homecomputer game "Diablo" however. I found Blodia to be too difficult and stressful from the very beginning to be actually fun. But I guess when you have bought this game for much money back in the day and put some effort in it to dig into the mechanics and tricks, it could provide many hours of puzzle fun.*Get wrapped up in this mind-bending game that will test your mental agility. The action seems simple - just keep a ball rolling through a winding maze by shifting around pieces of tubing. But the action is intense! The game is identical to the cartridge version. Since the cartridge version was already about five years old, the game would have it hard to impress people and the absence of multiplayer-modes (the highlight of the later games in the series) was even more apparent in 1990. So you just run around the (scrolling) maze solo, bombing enemies and stone blocks in search of the exit door. Somewhat interesting in 1985, rather boring in 1990.	Famicom Disk System

But it is the first Bomberman with the typical Bomberman character and general graphical look that so many subsequent games in the series would borrow from. Sadly this Bomberman version doesn't have the best and main fun feature of later sequels, namely the multiplayer part. Bomberman is a robot who dreams of freedom from his task of bomb making in the underground explosives factory. He's told a rumor that if a Bomberman reaches the surface he is granted one wish.
