Hop across the freeway and doge the traffic. Avoid the snakes on the riverbank. Hop across the logs, alligators and turtles, again avoiding snakes and alligator teeth. Land on a lily pad. [48]***There are two different Frogger games for the Atari 2600. They are completely different conversations of the arcade game.

Late in the life of the 2600, Atari planned to re-release this title under their own label as they had done with some Coleco and other Parker Bros. games. It would have been CX26147 in their catalog.

Frogger Parker Brothers1983Frogger is a one or two player game in which players move their frog from the bottom to the top of the screen.
This is achieved by overcoming a number of hazards without getting run over or drowned.
The first half of the screen is a bi-directional flow of traffic including buses, cars and race cars. Players must avoid these vehicles.
Frogs can move safely with the flow of traffic to make their way to the second half of the screen which consists of a river with fast moving logs and sinkable turtles.
Frogs must hop on the backs of the logs and the sinkable turtles to get to the home base at the top of the screen. At random times throughout the game play a lady frog will appear on a log. Bonus points are scored if your frog successfully hops on the back of the lady frog and escorts her safely home.
A fly will also appear randomly in a home base. Bonus points can be scored if your frog hops in the home base when the fly is present.
Sinking turtles also swiftly move across the river with the logs. If a frog is unsuccessful in hopping on a turtle's back, the frog will sink and drown.
Crocodiles, snakes and otters also roam the moving river waiting to eat frogs on their way up to the home base.
Players can hop on their back (except the snake, whose touch is deadly), but they must avoid their open mouths.
Frog must be lined up perfectly to enter one of the five home bases. You must maneuver the frogs to their home base within the allotted time (sixty beats on the timer).

Game Action
The frog can move vertically or horizontally by maneuvering the joystick.
You must maneuver your frog swiftly and precisely without getting run over, drowned or eaten by the creatures that roam the flowing river. Avoiding traffic.
Deadly snakes, otters, crocodiles and the treacherous diving turtles make game action stimulating in Frogger.

Swim up from the bottom of the river. Hop across the surface. They fly through the air! It helps to hitch a ride on a large goose. All the same creatures are back, plus sharks, whales, pterodactyls, dragons, crocodiles, barracudas, ducks and various other birds. To compensate for the defectively designed 5200 joysticks, Parker Bros opted to provide 2 different and unique control schemes from every other version of [game=Frogger]Frogger[/game]. You can point the joystick in the direction you want to hop (or swim or fly), then press the either button to go. Or you can use the 2, 4, 6, and 8 keys on the numeric pad. Much like vertical-shooter or side-shooter tube shooter, except its done on a circle. This is a forced-3D perspective game that could be called a tube-shooter. The waves of enemies come from the center of the screen and fly at the player bound to the outer rim of an invisible tube. There are powerups too, like double lasers. This version does include Bach's Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor soundtrack.
The different ports of Gyruss offer fascinating information about Pluto as seen at the time by the programmers of the different releases. In this version, you start at Pluto and head to Earth, unlike the arcade version.

Lord of the Rings: Journey to Rivendell Parker Brothers1983The Lord of the Rings: Journey to Rivendell has been the subject of speculation for many years by Atari collectors. Now one of the most sought-after Atari 2600 prototypes is finally available. What's the story, you ask?
Way back in 1983 Parker Brothers featured this game in one of their catalogs. Video game and Tolkien fans alike were excited by this announcement, but the wait would be in vain. Lord of the Rings was never released, and Parker Brothers reportedly informed people that called and asked for the game that it was sold out in an attempt to cover up for the fact that it was never published.

McDonald's  Parker Brothers1983This game, typical of games designed by females when given creative license, features totally original gameplay that cannot be easily classified. Alien Invaders have come to earth and discovered McDonald' food. As long as the Ronald McDonald feeds them, they won't invade. The trick is figuring out the individual tastes of each alien. Some prefer fries, some Big Macs, some soda pop, some cheese burgers, some milkshakes etc. But that's not all. If you don't feed them in time, they start eating McDonald's golden arches. Wait, their more. In between feeding the aliens you can make repairs to the golden arches. This version features an additional gameplay element over the 2600 version; if a section of the golden arches becomes totally detached, an alien will try and levitate it away; Ronald will have only seconds to find the telekinetic alien to feed or he will lose the whole section and the game.

Monopoly Gametek;Parker Brothers;Sculptured (Sculptured Software)1992The classic board game MONOPOLY has made its way to the Super Nintendo. The object of the game is simple: bankrupt your opponents. The gameplay calls for you to roll the dice and circle the board, buy or trade properties, build houses and hotels on them, and charge rent when your opponents happen to land on them. The more expensive properties are more desirable, as the rent is proportionately higher. You must also avoid the long arm of the law and jail time, which causes you to lose a turn and potential profit. You can play with up to eight players with a multi-tap, or go it alone against the computer. SNESlabelimagesubject
