Android Wipe Out  ALA Software (General Masters)1983So why don't the aliens in space invaders use a better strategy by just dropping straight down? The alien androids in this game would be that smart. But, they are trapped in a maze and only have the option of finding the exit while being picked-off but the player. This game almost works like a tower defense game. Apple II Elabelimagesubject

Aranara Perpetual Pyramid2013Helium mining machines are attached to to small asteroids. Helium collectors are placed on larger asteroids (where gravity can hold them to the surface). As asteroids pass near each other, the mining machines spew the helium toward the larger. You job is to place obstacles, attractors, and repellers to route the helium into the collector (which cannot be moved). Sometimes the mining machines send chucks of their asteroid, these will need to me broken to free the helium from them. Your rocket launcher can help. Sometimes other obstacles will be in the way. Fortunately, you only need to fill the Helium collector rather than keep every spec of helium from getting away.

There is a realistic randomness to the speed and movement of the helium in a way that is not typical of the usual precision of physics based puzzle games.

Catch the Buzz 2  author1995This is not quite Tetris. There are no points scored for completing lines. Rather, there are these bugs in the playfield that must be eliminated. Like Tetris, a random arrangement of four squares into a shape fall from above to be maneuvered by the player to complete rows of squares and, in this case, bugs that will then vanish and cause all above squares to fall down one row. A Voice game designed to use the "The Voice of the Odyssey²" add-on hardware to output synthesized speech

Designed in the celebration after Magnavox got away with their Pac-Man clone. This game features some changes to look and feel a little less like Pac-Man. Notable, Munkin does not *chomp* like Pac-Man. Yet the Dratapillar is meant to resemble the Centipede from Atari's game. The object is for Munchkin to devour the Dratapillar's segments while avoiding it's mouth and the lesser enemies. Trees slow down the characters. Dratapillar's segments function as power pellets.

'K.C.' were the initials of the president of Magnavox in 1981.

The sequel to K.C. Munchkin.

Digits Creative Computing1975This is a type of mastermind game, but it is inverted. Three times in a row, the player creates a 10-digit ternary number (0,1,2, trits instead 0,1 bits) that the computer attempts to guess in ten tries or less. If the computer less than gets 1/3 correct, the player wins. Exactly 1/3 is a tie. More than 1/3 means the computer wins. (A ternary numeral system makes it very easy to use thirds compared to a binary, octal, decimal, or hexadecimal system) Altair 8800labelminimizesubject
Digits Creative Computing1979Digits is a number guessing game. The player is asked to write down three lines of 10 digits, where each digit can be 0, 1 or 2. The computer will then try to guess your numbers. The player must input the number sets and the computer compares it with its guesses. If it guessed correctly more than 10 times the computer wins, otherwise the player wins or it's a tie when exactly 10 guesses were correct. Apple II Elabelminimizesubject

Foosball - Street Edition Yuisy (Yuisy;Exkee)20145-on-5 team battles carried out in 6 varieties of altered sports with football (soccer) elements, soccer game mechanics, and a little bit of 2-on-2 fighting game mechanics as well. None of these altered sports are a foosball (table football/table soccer) variant. Team choice matters as each has abilities that the others do not. Up to four players can use a single computer in any combination of cooperative and competitive play.

This game does contains a maneuver comparable to the "Fish out of Water" maneuver rarely used in table soccer where the player purposefully launches the ball off the table then, while still airborne, strikes it with a player to launch it above the game board to land back on the board, ideally, in a chosen place (often directly in the goal box, making it extremely difficult to block). However, launching a soccer ball off the grass is quite common in soccer. The similarity comes from having the players flip upside down to kick the ball (as is required for the maneuver in table soccer). Again, a kickflip (rainbow kick) is an established soccer maneuver; but the way it is used in this game resembles the Fish out of Water maneuver of table soccer more than it does a real kickflip. The game also includes realist kickflips.

Table soccer note, a variant of "Fish out of Water" has the ball bounce on the top of the side rail before returning to the playfield. This is still a legal move. This variant is also present in a way in this game when a ball bounces off an obstacle and returns to the playfield. Rolling along the top of the side rail is not a legal move in table football. Unknown at this time if this game contains a similar rail rolling variant.

Lady Bug  Universal1981Much like Pac-Man, players maneuver the Lady Bug through the maze to gobble dots, hearts, letters, and the occasional vegetables of ever increasing point value while avoiding insects and pesticides. Increasingly more dangerous insects are released from the center square according to a timer (visually shown as the maze boarder) and will relentlessly be re-released if killed by a pesticide. Insects cannot be killed by the Lady Bug directly, but only if the collide with pesticide. Gobbling hearts and letters will temporarily freeze insects. The most noticeable difference from Pac-Man is the ability to alter the paths of the maze by rotating one of the twenty green gates 90° at a time by pushing it with the Lady Bug. A much more complex difference occurs with the bonus systems. The proper combination of hearts and 3 randomly chosen letters from 2 sets that spell either SPECIAL or EXTRA will reward a player with an advancement to the next level or an extra life. One of the letters in the maze will be S, P, C, I, or L, another one will be X, T, or R, and the last one will be A or E (A and E can be used for either word while the other letters apply only to one of the words). Gobbling a letter from the maze that is the same ever cycling color of the word on the top of the maze will change the word's color and add that letter to it (until the word is completed). But if the letter is not the same color as the word, the letter only counts for points and does not serve to complete the word. Heart bonuses related to score and their color ever cycles the same as that of the letters in the maze. Blue hearts will add a score multiplier of 2X for the 1st, 3X for the second, and finally 4X for the 3rd heart. Hearts of any other color only provide points and change word colors.

Note about the maze, the maze and gates are left-right symmetrical. This is easily forgotten as each gate rotates independently (thereby showing asymmetry among the paths even though fixed maze walls remain unchanged).***Pac-Man-ish game.
Lost all my pocket money to this machine back in the days.

Moving a ladybird inside a labyrinth, collect all the dots and letters (with the right colors) to form the words "EXTRA" to win a life or "SPECIAL" to win a credit!

Been looking for this game since the pizzeria closed in the 80's.

Magnetospheres Perpetual Pyramid2011This is a physics puzzler, but a lot more animated than most physics puzzler. You have special magnets that only attract metals of the same color. Always, there are movable magnets outside the playfield to match the metal balls inside. Sometimes there are movable magnets inside the playfield that may not match the balls. Also there can be non-movable magnets, indirectly movable magnets, and magnets attached to moving or spinning platforms that you may or may not be able to move. And there are sometimes plain moving or spinning platforms. You must arrange what you can to coax each ball into its corresponding box in the playfield.

This game shares elements with claiming games, breakout-likes, platformers, and The Incredible Machine style games.

Master Mind  Creative Computing1979 Apple II Elabelminimizeminimize
Mastermind Altair Software Distribution Company1976Another inverted Mastermind game. But in this variant, the computer and the player each take a turn as code-maker and breaker. Think of a code of as many colors at the rules say (rules are player determined at the beginning of the game. Have 3 colors, have 101 colors, the player decides). The computer guesses. Inform the computer of how many colors were correct and how many were in the right position. This continues until the computer guesses correctly. Then the player plays to break the computer's chosen code (that follows the same rules). Lowest number of guesses wins. Altair 8800labelminimizesubject

NeoColonialism Subaltern Games2013This game is very much like the board game risk. But rather than players commanding military conquests, players are bankers using neocolonial tactics to buy and sell votes for profit. After 12 turns, the player that has managed to deposit the most funds in their swiss bank account is the winner.

It is a humorless and pointed satire of real world global 'banker'. It names well known figures both past and present such as J.P. Morgan, Ronald Reagan, Alan Greenspan, Donald Trump, and many more. Players are actually named after such people.

The term "Neocolonialism" is the idea of using capitalism, business globalization, and cultural imperialism to influence a country without using (or necessarily having) direct military or political control. It is notably thought of as a Marxist theory despite the term being coined after the death of Karl Marx.***Neocolonialism

Not Pacman Stabyourself2013This Pac-Man clone works a bit differently. The player has no direct control over Pac-Dude and must rotate the world to maneuver him and the Ghosts. Gravity always pulls them down. Other than that, the rules are exactly the same. Eat the pellets and avoid the ghosts. Eat power pellets to make the ghosts eatable. Eat everything for high score. Pac Droids  Programmer's Guild1982This changes up the Pac-Man formula a bit. Power pellets change the player's color and only the enemy with the same color can be eaten. And the player can shoot.
