Block Smasher | author | 2013 | abstract abstract-location breakoutlike colormatching dataonly free langinsignificant lethalobjects license-proprietary modifiable nohumans nosaves score scoreoriented sequentialtasks times ubuntuzeldaclassicengine unlimitedlives | Something of a breakout-like made with ZQuest. Nothing like a Zelda game. Steer left and right while moving at a constant speed up or down. Bounce off indestructible bricks or bricks not matching the current color of your ball. Destroy bricks for score. Destroy bricks matching your color by bouncing off of them. Pass through and destroy broken bricks matching your color. Hit star bricks to change your color. Avoid deadly bricks. Avoid changing color and hitting bricks in a sequence that prevents the level from being finished. Clear each level of all destructible bricks in the allotted time. Do it faster for higher score. Lives are unlimited but deaths are recorded. Try to die less. Really just a simple little puzzle-lite breakout-like . Includes 80 levels and comes with tile sets, scripts, and everything you need to modify it in ZQuest (to make you own levels). Warning, it supports your poor design choices. | Linux | labelimagesubject |

Coloris | Avesoft (Signum Victoriae) | 1990 | colormatching fallingblocks score visualmatching | Coloris is a puzzle game similar to Columns. The player has to deal with falling down blocks which are divided into three parts (stacked up vertically). These parts have one of five colours which can be rotated by using a button (for example if the combination is white-blue-red it becomes red-white-blue). The goal is to create lines of three or more parts of the same colour. When they vanish, above lying parts fall down and may create a chain reaction. All this rewards points and if enough of those are gained, the player gets access to a fallback-feature: slowing down the falling speed of the current block. However, this only lasts for a short time and costs points. A game ends if the blocks reach the upper part of the screen. Additional to the normal playing mode, there is a second one in which random blocks get added to the lower side of the screen in regular intervals.*** [99]*** [33]*** [102]*** [49]*** [62]*** [37] | Amiga | labelimagesubject |

Concentration | Millennium Group | 1984 | audiomatching colormatching difficulty keyboard langmorsecode memory nplayers score shapematching traditional tutorial visualmatching | Five variants of Concentration and a tutorial game to teach players how to select items on a grid by typing Letter+Number (therefore how to play). Three variants of increasing difficulty are 1 player. The last two of increasing difficulty are 2 player only (no computer players provided). When one player has scored more than half of the available points, they game ends and they are declared the winner. Each variant has two or three difficulty levels as well. The hardest game is Morse Code Concentration. At the hardest level, when a card is selected, a Morse Code is played from the Apple's speaker and the visual image on the card is not shown. When a match is made, a visual of what the code represents is shown on the cards. Thus, it teaches Morse Code. | Apple II E | labelminimizesubject |
