An enchanced version called Alien Typhoon, released the following year, features more aliens, but also more slow down. Generally considered better than Atarisoft's official Galaxian port.

[37]***Alpha Mission is the first game from SNK for the Famicom/NES system, a vertical scrolling shoot'em up game and an arcade port. Sadly, the game is really unimpressive with rather boring looking levels and enemies. Collecting letters along the way lets you upgrade your standard weapons. You can also collect energy for several special weapons, which - as long as in use - uses up the energy steadily. As a result you are most of the time shooting with your meager standard laser (for air targets) and missiles (for ground targets). The ship is extremely slow at the beginning, hopefully you will find a speed up bonus soon or you will be in major trouble. The games few levels are rather short and eventually repeat itself endlessly, which doesn't add for some extra motivation. The music is also dull.

And Yet It Moves Broken Rules2009(Jugado de principio a fin, epílogo sin completar)

6 de 10***"And Yet It Moves" is basically a mixture between a jump and run and a puzzle game, with the extra ability to rotate the world. The player can run left, right and jump, but can also turn the world clockwise and counterclockwise by 90 degrees. When this happens physics works the following way: as soon as rotation starts all objects get frozen and after rotation objects continue to move with their velocities (direction and speed) they had before. With this ability you can move objects and yourself but also need to keep orientation and watch out for dangerous situations. Don't worry though, you're made out of paper so you can die as often as you want to.

The overall goal is to get through this collage of ripped paper. And if you are quick - and don't die too often - you might get a good rank in our global highscore list.

This is a gameconcept for a mediainformatics course held by the igw at Vienna University of Technology. We made two levels that show different aspects of how actual gameplay could be like. The first level - the cave - is more jump and run style and is an easy one where you can practice and improve your rotation skills. The second one - the jungle - is an advanced level with more sophisticated puzzles. To solve them you have to apply the physical consequences of rotating the world to the player and other objects simultaneously.

And Yet It Moves Broken Rules2009Run, jump and turn the world upside-down!

And Yet It Moves is an award-winning physics-based platform game in which players rotate the game world at will to solve challenging puzzles. Tilting the world turns walls into floors, slides into platforms, and stacks of rocks into dangerous hazards.

Players navigate through a paper collage world created with colorful pieces of cardboard and set to distinctive music. With four different environments and unlockable modes, And Yet It Moves is a platformer that will provide gamers with endless challenges.

Another World  Lexicon Entertainment (author;DotEmu)2006Also known as Out Of This World™, Another World is a pioneer action/platformer that released across more than a dozen platforms since its debut in 1991. Along the years, Another World™ has attained cult status among critics and sophisticated gamers alike.***activation limit - can be activated only 3 times (supposedly this is triggered during installation), before you're meant to buy another license for the game. Only one of the releases used this, most don't.***Mostly contains some improved graphics and music, but offers also classic mode with none of the new data used.

2006-04-14 release was by Eric Chahi himself.

Lexicon seems to have published this as "Another World 15th Anniversary Edition" on 2007-02-23.

Another World  Lexicon Entertainment (Icculus;DotEmu)20132013-09-16 saw the release of the native version of this game. It had been enjoyed by Linux gamers previously via engine remakes, visualization, and emulation, with several official outlets providing these options as well. Icculus noted many features of this game made porting simpler than usually. The game has already gotten the OpenGL treatment with the Mac 20th Anniversary Edition. The game originally used a virtual machine to run data, meaning only the virtual machine needed porting rather than the entire game. The 20th Anniversary Edition also saw virtual machine ported to C++ (the original was assembly); Icculus didn't even need to port that, it compiled as-is. The original used textured polygons construed from vector graphics (revolutionary at the time). This was virtually a separate feature from the rest of the game. Both the 20th Anniversary Edition and original were never hard coding their graphics to the video RAM (except for the background image). So this bit can easily be sent to the GPU, no CPU entanglements, no RAM entanglements. What's left to do is, get the image to the desktop, get the sound to speakers, get the input (keybooard or gamepad) to the machine.

This native port allows for playing the original or the enhanced 20th Anniversary Edition.
