Alpha Prime IDEA Games;Meridian4 (Black Element Software)2006unusual protagonist — the protagonist is the only person (in game, though in background story he is only one of few) resistant to the mind altering effects of "hubbardium", using it to induce a "reflex boost" state at which time seems to slow down, instead of causing delirium and addiction.***Strong story, fast paced shooting action. However, if you cannot shoot, then there is your RECON, hacking device enabling you to remotely control various devices you meet on your way through the dark halls and corridors of Alpha Prime. If that's not enough, you can drug your mind and sharpen your senses by injecting a small dose of hubbardium. And all the time you will be surrounded by physical world in a very literal sense, because almost everything that moves, moves thanks to advanced real-time physics algorithms.

* Hacking – need to know who or what is hiding around the corner or behind the door? Use the camera and everything will be revealed at once!
* Remote control – make use of the environment and clear your way without having to actually fight!
* Machines – have you something heavy to move somewhere else, remove an obstacle from your path? Do you want to get to some otherwise unreachable location? No problem. Just use this Loader.
* Bullet time – time seems to fly too quickly to your liking? A small dose of hubbardium will fix it. For a time...
* Car – nothing like a little ride under the starlit sky! Jump in and enjoy the otherworldly vistas of Alpha Prime!
* Compatible with Matrox TripleHead2Go , enabling gamers to connect 3 screens with a maximum resolution of up to 3840x1024*.

... and a variety of civilian vehicles including plain urban cars, trucks, bicycles (mountain bikes), motorbikes, etc.***A supremely frustrating (to the point of being comparable to [game=#169380]IWBTG[/game]) simulation game, especially online, since you're given no identification on your enemy, thus you're supposed to wait for them to identify you as the enemy and open fire which usually turns into quite quick death for you. Even telling how to identify your allies positively (and thus who isn't your ally) by insignia, uniform appearance, etc. would've been extremely useful. Despite this, it's a very impressive simulation shooter though not very enjoyable online to me due to having no way of telling friend and enemy apart.***Latest version: 1.05 (as of 2009-12-22)***Officially not called nor published under any form of "Armed Assault" title, only ArmA. Galaxy Game Computer Recreations1971***Galaxy Game is a space combat arcade game developed in 1971 during the early era of video games. Galaxy Game is an expanded version of the 1962 Spacewar!, potentially the first video game to spread to multiple computer installations. It features two spaceships, "the needle" and "the wedge", engaged in a dogfight while maneuvering in the gravity well of a star. Both ships are controlled by human players.***The very first coin-op arcade game. It beat [game=#2951]Computer Space[/game] by 2 months. It had two displays and sets of controls for multiplayer. Later 4 then 8 displays and controls were added for more players. Games were a dime (10 cents) each or a quarter (25 cents) for 3 plays. Arcadelabelimagesubject

Space Nerds in Space  author2013This is a starship simulator where each player has one job and manages one station, which is their computer, and everyone gets a main viewscreen. The idea is to use many computers in a room together and a large projector to create essentially a starship bridge, or in other words, and actual live in person starship simulator. The main view screen is top notch state-of-the-art graphic views of space like you would expect to see on the main viewscreen of the Enterprise. But the crew members stations are purely funtional, lots of text and vector graphics, what every sci-fi fan expect to see at a starship workstation. The game runs on Linux but supports any computer as a live booter. Linuxlabelminimizesubject

Supreme Commander  THQ (Gas Powered Games)2007Three opposing sides - the Cybran Nation, the Aeon Illuminate and the United Earth Federation - have been fighting in the Infinite War all across the galaxy, spreading chaos and unrest. You are a Supreme Commander and you have to take one of the sides and put an end to this war.

As in most strategy games, you have to build up a base, gather resources and build armies to fight off your enemies. But being created by Chris Taylor of Total Annihilation fame, the RTS also has many unique features, such as a huge unit cap of 500 units per side, different resource management, queue up commands and waypoints, diverse unit types and even dual screen support.

Players can play through the Campaign and carry on the story as one of the sides, or fight off computer enemies in Skirmish and human opponents in Multiplayer.***

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance  THQ (Gas Powered Games)2007The last days of man are at hand.. Two years after the Infinite War the once great warring nations now lie in ruins, and humanity’s hope for a brighter future is nothing but a bitter memory. A new, seemingly unstoppable enemy, supported by the zealots of The Order, now seeks to eradicate mankind: UEF, Aeon Loyalist, and Cybran alike. With their backs against the wall and staring into the abyss, the tattered remnants of Humanity’s forces must put aside old hatreds and band together as they prepare to make one last desperate stand. The Ninja Warriors Taito (Romstar)1988
[57]***This arcade had 3 screens connected together! It's a side-scrolling action game where you play one of 2 ninja warriors, on their quest to kill the evil dictator. Your weapons were either your knives, or your stars which were limited in use. You didn't get any powerups, but you could get some more stars by slaying some enemies. Some arcade machines had the volume up waayy too high, in which literally deafened some ears. Stage 2, the tank, comes to mind. 1 or 2 player simultaneous play, with continues for every credit.

X³: Reunion  Deep Silver (Egosoft)2005A game about the vastness of the space in a very big universe filled with all kinds of stuff (as ships, stations, asteroids...) and comprising a lot of different ways to play the game (militar, merchant, raider, police, transporter, salvager...) Its complexity and freedom are almost infinite, and has very clever features as speeding the time (for long travels) and very well-crafted reputation and market systems.

But there are 3 big issues with the game:
-The interface and controls are straight horrendous, forcing to employ the auto-pilot more than it should.
-The mission panel is very spartan and doesn´t records any indication of a possible mission (only points at already signed contracts, not featuring indications recieved in messages)
-Theres only 1 message log (important and worth-saving messages merge with a gigantic clutter of mundane conversations and tips)
These 3 problems make the in-game progress very difficult and immensely slow, and the game very boring/frustrating to play.

3 of 10***Greatest flaw in this that I see is that there's no task tracker. You're forced to remember and make notes yourself of what you agree to do and what others tell you to do, though you can review the message log as you like, it's hardly intuitive. This is especially bad considering the game's a sandbox.***Latest version: 2.5 (as of 2007)***Minimum:

Xbattle author?xbattle is a concurrent multi-player game which combines elements of
strategy with arcade-like action to capture a wide range of military
scenarios. Opponents play from separate displays, with commands being
executed concurrently -- the players do not take "turns", but rather they
all issue their commands simultaneously. There can be any number of
players, with each player assigned to a specific team, indicated by marker
colors. The game board is a matrix of cells (square, hexes, etc.) that can
be occupied by colored troops, with the goal of the game being to eliminate
the enemy from the board by attacking cells occupied by enemy troops. A
wide variety of command line options (and previously configured game files)
provide an abundance of different scenarios and gaming environments.
