3D Mines | author | 1996 | From the readme: "This source code is provided "as-is" in the hopes that it may be helpful for anyone starting out in the world of Inventor programming. It is freely-available; however I retain full copyright over the source code and ask that you credit me as such if you use parts of my code in your own applications." Abuse | Origin;Red Hat (Crack dot Com) | 1995 | This game brought new innovations from the 3D shooter back to 2D games. Such as aiming with the mouse while moving with the keyboard. Originally the game was for MS-DOS and Linux. Origin (was sold to Electronic Arts by then) was the original publisher. [Zerothis]***You are Nick Vrenna. It is the year 2009. You have been falsely incarcerated inside a high security underground prison where illegal genetic experiments are taking place. Alan Blake, the head research scientist, has isolated the specific gene which causes violence and aggression in humans. This genetic sequence, called 'Abuse', is highly infectious, causing horrific transformations and grotesque side-effects. You are the only person to show immunity to it A prison riot erupts, and in the confusion all the cell doors ar opened. Soon everyone, guards and convicts alike, become infected and transform into a horde of mutants which take over the building. Your only chance for escape is to don battle armor and reach the Control Room situated in the structure's deepest level. You must first stop the prison's Abuse-infected water supply from contaminating the outside world. Freedom and the fate of the world now depend on you. [Zerothis] | Linux | labelimagesubject |
Angband | author | 1992 | Angband is a single-player, text-based, dungeon simulation derived from the game Moria, which was in turn based on Rogue. It is often described as a "roguelike" game because the look and feel of the game is still quite similar to Rogue (though there are now graphical tiles available if you dislike ASCII gaming). Angband has been in more or less continuous development since the early 1990s. The ultimate goal of the game is to develop a character strong enough to defeat Morgoth, who resides on dungeon level 100. Upon doing so, you will receive the exalted status of "winner" and your character may retire. To achieve this you will need to explore numerous dungeon levels, defeat many foes and sift through a great deal of treasure. Angband is a reference to Morgoth's "prison of iron" in the world of Middle-Earth, created by J.R.R. Tolkein.***JnuxBand turns Angband into a 'PC booter' game. Simple write to a floopy, USB, or disk img file and play it on any computer or emulator that can boot it. | Linux | labelimagesubject |
