Winter Games | Acclaim Entertainment (Atelier Double) | 1987 | It's all here - the strategy, the challenge, the competition and the pageantry of the Winter Games. Compete against a friend or take on the computer in four completely realistic and action-packed events. Choose the country you want to represent. Then practice, train and develop the winning strategy for each competition... Speed Skating in a grueling race on ice. Hot Dog Aerials for daredevils on skis. Figure Skating to test balance, stamina and precision. Bobsled, where every screaming turn could mean the difference between wiping out and winning gold. Your adrenaline and heart are racing. Let the games begin!*** [52]***What have they done to my beloved "Winter Games"? The homecomputer versions were great, especially the C64 version. The NES version (released a few months after the Japanese Famicom Disk System version by Pony Canyon) is a total mess. Only four events instead of eight (missing my personal favorites, Biathlon and Ski Jump) and those events that are in are badly ported. Controls are bad. In Figure Skating you not even know what to do when. Graphics are bad. Sound is bad (whoever came up with the Speed Skating "intro sound" must be insane). I have seen rather bad homecomputer ports on the Famicom/NES (just think of [game=#7823]Ghostbusters[/game]), but "Winter Games" is amongst the very worst. | NES | labelimagesubject |

Winter Games | Atari (Epyx) | 1987 | There are two versions of Winter Games for the 7800. No way to tell them apart except that the older version is missing many sound effects and music. This seems to be a error that was discovered and corrected after several manufacturing runs. | Atari 7800 | labelimageminimize |
Winter Games | Epyx | 1987 | Get ready to capture the Gold in Winter Games. And what an incredible setting - a completely realistic winter wonderland featuring seven action-packed events. You can compete against your friends, or go solo. Train and learn a winning strategy for each event. You can even choose the country you want to represent. Then the competition begins, and the quest for the World Championship. It's all here - the strategy, the challenge, the competition - the art and pageantry of Winter Games!*** [49] | Atari 2600 | labelimagesubject |

Winter Games | Pony Canyon (Atelier Double) | 1987 | What have they done to my belove "Winter Games"? The homecomputer versions were great, especially the C64 version. The Famicom Disk System version (a few months later brought to the US on cartridge for the NES by Acclaim) is a total mess. Winter Heat | Sega (Sega Sports Arcade) | 1997 | Participate in 11 winter sports without the fear of frostbite in WINTER HEAT. Hit the powder in speed skiing, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, and slalom. Take to the air in ski jumping and aerial skiing. If you want to experience a true adrenaline rush, become a challenger in the two-man bobsled and speed skating. Once you’re able to crush the computer, take on three friends, and all of your records and scores will be tracked automatically. See who the best outdoor athlete is in WINTER HEAT.*** [32]*** [29]*** [27]*** [19] | Saturn | labelimagesubject |
