God of War III Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE Studios Santa Monica)2010Developed exclusively for the PLAYSTATION®3 system (PS3) system, God of War III is the final installment of the multi-million unit-selling trilogy. Developed by Sony Computer Entertainment’s Santa Monica Studios, God of War III will bring epic battles to life with stunning graphics and an elaborate plot that puts Kratos at the center of carnage and destruction as he seeks revenge against the Gods who have betrayed him.

Set in the realm of brutal Greek mythology, God of War III is a single-player game that allows players to take on the climatic role of the ex-Spartan warrior, Kratos, as he scales through the intimidating heights of Mt. Olympus and the dark depths of Hell to seek revenge on those who have betrayed him. Armed with double-chained blades, and an array of new weapons and magic for this iteration of the trilogy, Kratos must take on mythology’s darkest creatures while solving intricate puzzles throughout his merciless quest to destroy Olympus.

Key Features

ONLY ON THE PS3 SYSTEM - The award-winning development team leverages the processing power and technology of PLAYSTATION 3 system to make God of War III one of the most-graphically advanced next gen titles available, with even the dramatic cut screens running off the in-game engine.

GROUNDBREAKING DEPTH OF SCALE – Kratos will explore areas up to 4 times larger than those found in God of War II, as well as carve through entire armies while navigating on the back of Titans - living, moving, breathing levels as tall as the Empire State Building.

STYLIZED REALISM – Players will battle in detailed and unique 3D worlds lit by thousands of dynamic lights and textures with quadruple the resolution, which allows for realistic muscle striations, detailed facial expressions, and new heightened levels of brutality and gore.

SIGNATURE GAMEPLAY - Brutal combat, intricate puzzles, exploration of awe-inspiring worlds, and a compelling and satisfying ending to Kratos’ epic story.

SOPHISTICATED STORYLINE – The God of War III storyline is the epic conclusion to the trilogy; the storyline will be told in a way that is true to traditionalist roots in Greek mythology, from moral consequences to brutal battles against the Gods.

RIDEABLE CREATURES – Several of the menacing creatures of Greek mythology in God of War III can now be manipulated against their will, as Kratos uses them to cross chasms, inflict blind rage against enemies, reveal puzzles and secrets, and as tools of complete annihilation.

NEW WEAPONS AND COMBAT SYSTEM - New deadly weapons such as the Cestus -- powerful metal gauntlets with devastating strength -- and other brutal instruments of war that will allow Kratos to learn ruthless new techniques such as grappling with enemies and launching explosive wall-to-ground attacks.

LIGHTING TECHNOLOGIES – The dynamic lighting solution employed in GOW III is only feasible through the computing power provided by the Cell SPUs. For example, using the High Dynamic Range Lighting (HDRL) technology, the camera – when using Krato’s sightline - will emulate the human retina, causing players to feel a sharp brightness when Kratos exits a dark area and enters a sunlit area, similar to how the human eye would need to adjust.***

Shadow of Rome Capcom (Capcom Production Studio 2)2005The year is 44 B.C. The grandeur of the Republic of Rome has been tarnished by political corruption and society has been overrun by unruliness and violence. Julius Caesar advocates for drastic reform but he is met with opposition and murdered. The horrific news finds its way to the ears of one soldier, Agrippa, whose father is accused of the murder. Unfortunately, time is running out for Agrippa as his father is to be publicly executed by the winner of the next gladiatorial event. Shadow of Rome will automatically switch between Agrippa and Octavius, each of whom have their own area of expertise, to rescue Agrippa's father and uncover the truth.

Titan Quest  THQ (Iron Lore Entertainment)2006premade protagonist - besides being able to choose your gender (which only affects what you look like), you have absolutely no choice who your character is, later you get to choose which class to progress, though.
adv-static - does not occur when the character gains a generic level, but when they assign a point to class (mastery) level. Same points are used to unlock and increase the power of your class abilities, but a large number needs to be dedicated to unlocking class levels as well. Regular levels only give points to distribute: 2 for attributes, 4 for classes.
seamless world - there are a number of breaks, mostly when player goes on a sea voyage to reach another distant region. Otherwise, the world is massive.
sauroids - there's humanoid crocodiles/alligators, dinosaur-like ice raptors, and the centauroid mini-dragon things.
china - although never named thus (called the Orient instead), the map shows clearly the eastern side of mainland China with the island of Taiwan to the east and Hainan to the south and some other recognizable elements.

historically inaccurate - although Sparta was established in 11th century BCE and the Yellow Emperor reigned in around 27th century BCE, the Yellow Emperor apparently has waned to myth, people doubting his existence, so he's likely some form of an immortal within the setting though this is not elaborated.***From the co-creator of Age of Empires, Brian Sullivan, comes an all-new action role-playing game set in the mythical worlds of ancient Greece and Egypt. Amazing visuals and fast-action gameplay deliver a true cinematic gaming experience. Lush ancient world settings crafted in near-photo realistic detail provide the player with an extraordinary canvas on which to set forth on an epic quest of the ultimate good versus evil. The Titans, gods before the gods, have escaped from their eternal prison to wreak havoc on the world. In this titanic struggle between old and new gods it is the heroes of humankind who will ultimately determine the fate of all existence. The player quests throughout the ancient world in a race to uncover the secrets needed to once again imprison these ancient gods. Journeying to fabled locations such as the Parthenon, the maze at Knossos, the Great Pyramids, and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the player will have to overcome terrifying monsters and mythical beasts. A flexible class system allows almost limitless ways for the player to develop their character. Skills can be customized in many ways, and never become obsolete. Titan Quest: Immortal Throne  THQ (Iron Lore Entertainment)2007Continues right from where Titan Quest left off, somewhat smoothly transitioning your victory scene on Olympus into a troubled Rhodes island.

An improvement over the base Titan Quest in that the various quests are more varied, no longer endless permutations of "kill this" even though that's still quite common. Most notably however the boss monsters are much more interesting and perhaps the best part of the whole game.***req-swapfile - can be disabled by adding line
`skipCompatibilityChecks = true´
to file
`Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne\Settings\Options.txt´
.
