'Nam 1965-1975 Domark (The Kremlin)1991VIETNAM: The longest and most controversial conflict in the US history. A war fought as much in the corridors of power of the White House as in the steaming jungles of South East Asia.

Now you can use your political and military skills to change the course of the war and rewrite history. As President of the United States you must balance military commitment against public opinion back home. Will you be a hawk or a dove?

This emotive war simulation has two main objectives: to prevent South Vietnam falling to Communist power, while at the same time walking the political tightrope to remain President of the United States.

As invading Viet Cong guerillas fight to topple the South Vietnamese Government, you must air-mobilise units, set ambushes, even pull in your forces to protect Saigon - just some of the decisions you must take as commander-in-chief.

Re-enact three of the war's major battles - the hard fought campaigns at Tet, Khe Sanh and the 1975 Offensive. In each incident the terrain dictates the mobility of your units and the outcome varies according to the constantly changing conditions.

'Nam is an extremely accurate strategic model of the Vietnam war and combines historical detail with playability to produce a highly entertaining simulation.***

[37]***The 19th century was the age of change and progress. It was an era for political
reform which, step by step, involved more people taking part in political decisions
and was an era of advance. The threshold of the age of industry promised better
production methods, stronger trades and a more promising future. Natural science
added to progress, as new findings promised longer and healthier lives.

The growing importance of new raw materials like oil and cotton, and the discovery
and increased production of mineral resources gave the economy, especially in the
second part of the 19th century, a tremendous boost.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea  Coktel Vision1988The game is based on an 1870 novel by Jules Verne.

On July 5th, 1867 the government decided to launch the famous ship the "Abraham Lincoln", which left on the trail of a sea monster. The great French professor Mr. Arronax took part in the expedition. The weeks passed without any sign of the monster's presence in the area, when, one day, 300 miles from the shores of Queen Charlotte's Island... three members of the expedition set out on board the Nautilus, a submarine navigated by Captain Nemo. The player takes Arronax's role to find out more.

Most of the game is spent on the Nautilus, which consists of three rooms: the living room, the control room, and the library. There the player can manipulate objects and talk to people to receive hints on what to do next and the state of the Nautilus. With the map, he influences the route. Sometimes the player leaves the submarine to explore other locations, and respectively solves puzzles to receive more hints or to solve action sequences, e.g., fighting against a shark.

The game is played in real-time, which means the key to success is being in the right location at the right time. This also results in various possibilities to render the game unwinnable and causes waiting times. For the same reason, the player also needs to watch Nemo's mood. If they anger Nemo, e.g., by manipulating the ship instruments, he locks the player into their room and valuable time passes. The game is played completely in point & click and has no function to save progress.***

3001: O'Connors Fight Rainbow Arts1990In 3001: O'Connors Fight, the player takes the role of John O'Connor, one of six space lords who fight for dominance over the space empire. The main playing menu consists of two parts: the space map with all planets (either in animated 3D or a top-down view) and the menu with up to four commands. The basic gist is that the lords need to visit owned planets in order to adjust their production focus: space ships are used to defend planets and fuel is required to move them around the empire.

More planets are acquired by attacking them. The result is calculated automatically and is based on the amount of defending respectively attacking troops. A special case comes into effect when a space lord is currently on the attacked planet: the winner of the fight instantly receives all the loser's planets. A lord is permanently removed from the game after the second personal defeat; the goal is to unite all planets under O'Connor's rule. Sometimes there is an action sequence in which the player has to move the spaceship (by clicking on cursor keys) in order to avoid obstacles.***

3D Galax Gremlin Graphics1989As the name implies, 3D Galax takes the Space Invaders/Galaxian concept into the third dimension. Seen from a first-person cockpit perspective and utilizing flat-shaded polygonal graphics, waves of aliens advance towards the player and must be destroyed with a laser cannon. Unlike in the originals, the aliens never shoot back: the only danger they pose is that of crashing into the player. If any aliens from a wave survive an attack run by not being destroyed before they pass the player, they will try again and again, until either the entire wave or the player is destroyed. The alien formations change every four waves, but not before a bonus stage involving navigating an asteroid field is passed. Amigalabelimagesubject

You, too, will be saying the very same things in about an hour's time. Amigalabelimagesubject
3D World Tennis Simulmondo1992This tennis simulation followed up Simulmundo's 3D World Boxing, while 3D World Soccer was the final game in the series. There is some sports management involved as the player you choose (from pre-built selection or from your own creation) can improve his skills (forehand, backhand, serve, volley, etc.) as he wins matches and prize money and moves up in the rankings.

There's 4 different play options: Singles Match, Singles Tournament, Grand Slam, and ATP Tour. You must be qualified to play for the last two options based on your current ranking. Beating opponents ranked higher will move your own ranking higher more quickly.

The playing view is directly from behind the player but as you approach the net it is scaled to always be appropriate for what the player would see from that vantage point. The players are viewed in large well-animated forms and even the backgrounds of crowd scenes are also animated. At the bottom of the screen there are player's photos and ability bar graphs as well as a small overhead view of the player's positions on the court.***

4-Get-It TTR Development19924-Get-It is a tile-matching puzzle game. The goal of each level is to remove all tiles within a time limit. To reach this goal, the player moves the cursor over a tile, selects it, and moves it over the field. When two or more tiles with the same motive are moved next to each other horizontally or vertically (not diagonally), they vanish. However, tiles are affected by gravity and fall down when they are moved over an empty space or when a tile under them vanishes. The player has to watch for special blocks which influence the tiles' movement (e.g. ice blocks for continued sliding or warp blocks) and special tiles which have special effects after they vanish (e.g. anti-gravity blocks reverse gravity in the whole area or bomb tiles which destroy surrounding blocks).

Those mechanics mean the level can be maneuvered into an unwinnable state and therefore the game includes the option to reset a level. This feature is only available a limited amount of times, but each five levels more tries are rewarded. Passwords are given all five levels (starting from level ten) and allow access five levels before the password was acquired, e.g. the level ten password loads level five.***You must try to remove all the tiles from the screen before the timer runs out by
placing them next to matching tiles. When two or more tiles match, they will
vanish. Once all tiles have vanished, you will proceed to the next (harder) level.

As you proceed through the game, you will be given passwords that will allow you
to start at higher levels in the game.

Now you're sitting on a ton of hot truck in the desert, racing toward a heat-rippled horizon dotted with sand traps and tire-ripping rocks. And you're wishing you brought more water along for the ride...

Survival of the Fastest

Off-road racing is a test of speed and survival. First you pick your challenge: The Georgia Mud Fest, The Michigan Winter Wreck-off, the Death Valley Trek or the Baja Challenge. Then you choose a truck, customize it and stock it with tools. And survival supplies like food and water. Just in case.

Makes the Grand Prix Look Like Sissy Stuff

Those guys in fancy race suits don't use winches to lift rigs out of mud bogs. They don't change tires punctured by razor sharp cacti. And when it snows - they don't even have to race. In Off-Road racing these rough and tumble conditions are all part of the exciting challenge!

* Claw over desert dunes, "bog" through mud holes, slide through ice - four exciting races over a variety of obstacles and terrains.
* Customize the truck of your choice with the right gear for your chosen race terrain.
* Bring along supplies for off-road repairs: tools, winches, spare tires, parts - even a mechanic.
* Race rig-to-rig against die-hard opponents including a screamin' demon truck.***

A Mind Forever Voyaging Infocom1986"If you can look into the seeds of time, and say which grain will grow and which will not..." -Shakespeare

IT'S 2031. The world is on the brink of chaos. In the United States of North America, spiraling crime and unemployment rates, decayed school systems and massive government regulations have led to a lazy, contentious society.

To reverse this critical situation, government and industry leaders have developed a Plan combining the economic freedom and strong moral values of the 1950's with the technological advancements of the 21st century. Will the Plan ensure peace and prosperity? Or will it set the earth on a suicide course to destruction?

As the world's first conscious, intelligent computer, only you can visit places that have never been seen before. Only you can view the future. And only you know what must be done to save humanity.

A major departure for Infocom, A Mind Forever Voyaging is reminiscent of such classic works of science fiction as Brave New World and 1984. You'll spend less time solving puzzles, as you explore realistic worlds of the future.***

If you can create and operate a successful privately held mass transit operation, you'll do the world a service and reap huge financial rewards - but that's only the beginning...

First, manage your railroad - transport passengers and freight, extend your lines, and develop the most efficient and profitable routes and schedules. Then, borrow from the bank, buy and develop land, expand your holdings into hotels, factories, resorts and department stores, play the stock market, and build a financial empire.

• Six different scenarios present a variety of development styles and challenges.
• Build high-rise offices, department stores, hotels, golf courses, amusement parks, stadiums, ski resorts, and more.
• On-screen day/night cycles and seasonal changes mark the passage of time.
• More than 20 advisors offer their expert opinions on how you should run your business.
• No meddling government officials with their monopoly-busting anti-trust laws to get in your way.***

[37]***A-Train was enormously successful in Japan (released by Artdink), so Maxis decided to bring out a version for Western computers. On first sight somebody could say it is a mixture of "Railroad Tycoon" and "Sim City", but A-Train is a hardcore business-simulation. Earn money with building up a functioning an profitable railway system and go into the real-estate business. If you are successful you can see the city grow and prosper. To Amiga users which had a least 1,5 MByte RAM a high-res graphics mode was avalaible.
