Burntime | Max Design | 1993 | Deserts cover the globe, cities are destroyed, the end of every civilization is near. The few survivors search for drinking water and food. They eat all they can find. Like a Role-Playing-Game, you travel through the world and meet many computer-played characters. You want to rule the world. But there are other 3 characters with the same aim. You spend the most game time looking at the map, which takes up several screens. The position of the 4 characters, their occupied conquests, the cities, and the health condition of your character are shown on the map. The different settlements you can occupy are old factories, camping-grounds or ruins of old mega-cities. The five great cities are opened for all competitors and can’t be occupied. In these cities you cannot fight against your enemies. Sometimes you meet a human for changing news, items or take them in your party. There are different classes of computer-characters: fighters, engineers or doctors for example. Every character of your party can carry up to 6 items (food, weapons). These items are produced by the settlements you control.***Directly from the backside of the game-box: Can you survive the dangerous and dark future looming over our world; a world destroyed by human hand and natural disaster? Will you successfully complete for the rule of the land with the cunning and ruthless individuals this hostile environment has created? Are you ready for BURNTIME? BURNTIME is a complex strategic and trade simulation for one or two players. Based in a world where bartering and killing are the rule of the day. Explore, conquer and go to battle in a barren world of nuclear waste and toxic gasses. | labelimagesubject |

The user can also chose that only a single version of the Bible be available, rather than having King James, New International Version, Revised Standard Version, and The Living Bible available to choose during the game. The user also has the option of removing all actions and references dealing with combat (with Deception Cyber robots) except the end-game sequence that includes an explosion. Wings of Thunder | author | 1994 | Something a bit different for a Flight Sim Toolkit game; it's Sci-Fi in a future setting. The author insists the game only runs 640x480 VESA mode but it seems to have all the same hardware compatibility as any other Flight Sim Toolkit game. However, a faster CPU is helpful for this specific game. | labelminimizeminimize |

Hocus Pocus | Apogee (Moonlite Software) | 1994 | Terexin, leader of the Council of Wizards, is sending the young sorcerer, Hocus, on a special mission to prove his worthiness. Along the way Hocus will encounter dragons, imps, ghosts and 30 more unique creatures, demons and enemies. Survive, and Hocus becomes a full-fledged, card carrying Wizard. The other option is not so favorable. Awesome and beautiful 256-color VGA graphics. After every two levels of play the level graphics, background and enemies completely change, giving this game unparalleled variety. Hocus Pocus is a action platform game, with exciting puzzles built into each level's structure. Hocus is armed with a standard magic spell (he's not yet a full Wizard, after all), but he can find several potions that give him a temporary boost of magical energy. There are potions that give Hocus the ability to shoot rapidly, jump higher, teleport and fire a devastating energy blast, among others. COOL FEATURES * Smooth 360 degree scrolling, with a parallax background. * Over SIX MEGS of 256-color VGA animated graphics. * Four episodes with 36 huge levels! * Over 30 different monsters, plus four huge bosses! * Save/restore options, selectable skill levels, four cheat passwords! Lost Eden | Virgin (Cryo Interactive) | 1995 | Lost Eden is an adventure game set on an eerie planet populated with dinosaurs. Your civilisation is menaced. Armies of Tyranns, led by Moorkus Rex, are gathering around your kingdom. Soon they will swarm in, destroy everything and kill your people. However, there is a single hope. There are legends telling that several hundreds of years ago, men and dinosaurs cooperated to build 5 mighty Citadels that were almost invulnerable to the Tyranns. Today, all the Citadels but one have been destroyed. You play as Adam of Mo, you must rediscover the secret of uniting men and dinosaurs, rebuild the Citadels, and finally defeat Morkus Rex and his armies. Lost Eden is a first-person adventure that utilizes Myst-style navigation through pre-rendered backgrounds that represent locations. However, the gameplay is less heavy on environment-manipulating puzzle-solving than Myst, having more in common with traditional adventure games with their inventory-based puzzles.*** [22] | labelimagesubject |

Powerslave Official Beta Version | Playmates (Lobotomy Software) | 1995 | This is effectively a 'shareware' demo of the final game. But this version supports a much wider array of hardware and options. I suspect there were some angry customers of the full version. For instance, this version works on Tandy 1000 where the final version did not. | labelminimizesubject |
