Fallout Interplay (Black Isle Studios)1997A great post-apocalyptic RPG, with good atmosphere and great feeling about scarceness of resources.
Sadly, is too short, but with an incredibly good story and even alternative endings.***
[53]***Set in the aftermath of a worldwide nuclear war, FALLOUT will challenge you to survive in an unknown and dangerous world. You will take the role of a Vault-dweller, a person who has grown up in a secluded, underground survival Vault. Circumstances arise that force you to go Outside to a strange world 80 years after the end of the modern civilization. A world of mutants, radiation, gangs and violence. Your immediate task is to find a replacement for the broken water purification controller chip. Without that chip, your fellow Vault dwellers are doomed to dehydration or are forced to leave the safety of the Vault for the Outside.***2009-08-19 on Steam, by Interplay (lang: eng, fre, spa, ger)***Latest version: 1.2 (as of ?)

Fallout 2  Interplay (Black Isle Studios)1998Improves everything in the first game, especially exploration.
The only thing to blame is a kind of fixed ending in comparition with the first game, and an antagonist not so interesting as The Master.

9 de 10***In this postnuclear role-playing game, you are the Chosen One, the direct descendant of the Vault Dweller. The village elders have selected you to wear the sacred Vault-suit of your grandsire and, in time, to ascend to the leadership of your people. First you must prove your devotion to your people. Your tribe needs help. If you are truly the Chosen One, then you alone are capable of claiming the heritage of the Vault Dweller to take back your birthright. Your tribe has survived over 10 years of drought, but now their reserves are at an end. You must find Vault 13 and claim the technology that your tribe needs to survive. If you fail in this quest, your tribe will surely die. You must travel the perilous Wastes on a holy quest to find Vault 13--the same Vault that cruelly cast your grandsire out into the Wastes 80 years ago. The Vault owes you. The Vault owes your tribe. Now it is time to collect.***2009-08-19 on Steam, by Interplay (lang: eng, fre, ger)***censored - at least UK and German releases had the children removed.***It's a CRPG set in a Post Apocalyptic world. You play the Chosen One, the direct descendant of the Vault Dweller from the original Fallout.
The village elders have selected you to wear the sacred Vault-suit and, in time, to ascend to the leadership of your people. First you must prove your devotion to your people and journey out into the wastelands. Your tribe needs help...

A place where great industrial cities house castle keeps and factories, home to Dwarves, Humans, Orcs and Elves alike. A place of ancient runes and steamworks, of magic and machines, of sorcery and science.

Welcome to the Land of Arcanum

Arcanum is the first game to come from the development house Troika Games, LLC, started by former Fallout team members Tim Cain, Leonard Boyarsky, and Jason Anderson. This team takes the depth of gameplay and world-building in role-playing games to entirely new levels of realism and excitement.

Arcanum creates a compelling new world where magic and technology coexist in an uneasy balance. As Arcanum opens, the mechanical age has only recently arrived in this ancient land where Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Orcs and other races have learned to survive in the new sprawling industrialized cities. But this radical shift from magic to technology has created a potentially explosive situation. As the townspeople and other thinkers begin mass production of light bulbs, batteries, eyeglasses and guns, the Mages grow leery. This tightly wound setting is the starting point from which the character must set out on his quest.

The game intro establishes that you're seemingly some extremely primitive people compared to others in your homeworld (they had spacecraft there as well), several comments during game deepens your understanding of how ignorant they really are and makes them seem almost pitiable. It also makes you wonder what strike of genius did the Mook have when they decided You were good choice as bodyguards.***A New Wizardry for a New Generation

* Cast over 100 spells using a unique power-level system that guarantees that no spell ever becomes obsolete.
[Box blurb]***Wizardry 8 is an epic fantasy RPG that picks up where [[gameid:42564 Wizardry 7: Crusaders of the Dark Savant]] left off. You may recall that all hell had broken loose at the end of Wizardry 7. The Dark Savant had taken flight with a device called the Astral Dominae, an incredibly powerful artifact containing the secret of life itself. Following him are two powerful races, the T'Rang and the Umpani, as well as your own brave party of adventurers. Everyone is headed to Dominus, a world on the cusp of the Cosmic Circle, birthplace of the Astral Dominae and home of the Cosmic Lords. Many paths will converge on Dominus, and many long-hidden secrets will be revealed.

7 de 10***A deadly plague ravages your world. Your last hope: a legendary alien facility dug deep into the Feldspar Mountains...a massive Pit, built by the ancient Suul'ka.

If 'The Pit' really exists, there might be something left. Something that will give your doctors a fighting chance at the cure.

All you know for sure is that every expedition into those mountains has failed to return...

And nothing sows death like the Suul'ka.

Sword of the Stars: The Pit is a fun, fast, light-hearted action RPG, in the tradition of Rogue and other old school dungeon-diving games.

The game will include the following features on release:

* 3 Characters to choose from...Marine, Pilot and Engineer!
* Go up levels and improve your skills as you try and find a way to survive the depths.
* 30 Levels of ancient evil science between you and the cure!
* Dozens of enemies drawn from the SotSverse!
* Over 30 weapons and armors with a variety of special effects including flamethrowers, rocket launchers, plasma cannons and powered Brawler armor!
* Randomized augmentation effects to make each game unique
* Crafting lets you make special items from bits and pieces of your enemies.
* Over 60 items to discover, ranging from the familiar to the ancient exotic tech.
* Dozens of room types containing a host of exotic devices to help and hinder the player
* Many fiendish ways to die including poisoning, disease, traps, radiation, starvation and of course...MONSTERS.
