Description

Empire II is a tactical shooting game where up to 50 players divided over 8 ships try to wrest control over the galaxy. The game changed the gameplay of its predecessor by allowing direct control of the spaceship and scrapping the economic simulation altogether. Unlike the single screen predecessor, part II features a game world of 8x8 sectors in which the players could fly around in a top down perspective. Starships followed the laws of physics keeping their momentum. To brake, the ship had to be rotated in reverse and thrust given to counteract the forces. Torpedoes were fired in the direction of movement.
