Personal review

Who I remember this game. Still got the manual. It was distributed by Robtek. Too bad I don't know the year.

Story: In future, scientists realise a dangerous increasment of radiation. It comes from space, far away from earth. A probe has been sent out that spooted a huge space ship which is definitely the origin of the radiation. Earth's only hope is "Skyrider". A small attack vessel, developed by the greatest minds. "Skyrider" has to reach the extraterrestrial ship and destroy it.

Gameplay: As you can imagine, you are the pilot of "Skyrider". The gameplay can be compared with "Goldrunner". You blast your way from the left to the right of the battleship. You have to destroy EVERYTHING on the ships surface to advance to the next stage. If you don't your ship will simply turn at the end of the level. But you can also manually change your direction (see below). And you will need to!!!
Your ships shield is shown as a radiation symbol. If it's green you'll be allright, yellow is not that bad and red...well this indicates you're going to loose a life.
There are NO power-ups in this game. Not even to restore shields, at least thats what i remember.

Controls: Simple...very simple. The up and down cursors will exactly do what you expect them to do. Left and right will force the "Skyrider" to increase/decrease it's speed or to change flying directions. e.g. your flying to the right at full speed. The "left" button will decrease your speed since you are at low speed. Then "left" will turn your ship around and speed up if you continue pressing the left cursor button. Sounds diffucult? Maybe but it's simple, just try ;)
Spacebar will fire your weapons...thats all.

Enemys: Yeah, masses of evil alienships, laser barriers and ultra-evil guided missle turrets. Those turrets can't be destroyed and their guided missles will follow without a chance to avoid them. The only way to get rid of them is to shoot them. You could run until they selfdestrukt but those missles are fast...very fast!

Result: "Skyrider" is nothing for beginners. The second level will confront you with nearly impossible numbers of missileturrets which will decimate your shield and your nerves. But don't give up. After you played this one your reflexes will have increased very much :)
