Personal review

"Shogun" is a game based on the famous novel "Shogun" by James Clavell and is a sort of port of Virgin Games' computer game adaption, but with lots of changes. At first glance it looks like a "Legend of Zelda"-clone, but that is only in regards to the graphics. At the start of the game the player chooses one of forty characters with the goal to become ruler of Japan by "persuading" the other characters to follow you. Some of them have to be beaten in battle, some of them must be bribed etc. All characters have different stats like Strength or Ambition and they can be increased by picking up items on the overworld. Like the computer versions I couldn't really get into the game, withou being able to say were the game has its biggest flaws. I found it too confusing to be enjoyable.
