Deus Ex  Eidos Interactive (Ion Storm)20002007-03-29 on Steam; GOTY edition (lang: eng)***This GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION of the smash hit Deus Ex features an all-new multiplayer mode and a new head-to-head deathmatch mode. Also included is a software development kit, so you'll be able to create both single and multiplayer missions from scratch, as well as modify existing ones.

The year is 2052 and the world is a dangerous and chaotic place. Terrorists operate openly - killing thousands; drugs, disease and pollution kill even more. The world's economies are close to collapse and the gap between the insanely wealthy and the desperately poor grows ever wider. Worst of all, an ages old conspiracy bent on world domination has decided that the time is right to emerge from the shadows and take control. No one believes they exist. No one but you.

* Real role-playing from an immersive 3D, first-person perspective. The game includes action, character interaction and problem solving.
* Realistic, recognizable locations. Many of the locations are built from actual blueprints of real places set in a near future scenario.
* A game filled with people rather than monsters. This creates empathy with the game characters and enhances the realism of the game world.
* Rich character development systems: Skills, augmentations, weapon and item selections and multiple solutions to problems ensure that no two players will end the game with similar characters.
* Multiple solutions to problems and character development choices ensure a varied game experience. Talk, fight or use skills to get past obstacles as the game adapts itself to your style of play.
* Strong storyline: Built on "real" conspiracy theories, current events and expected advancements in technology. If it's in the game, someone, somewhere believes it.
[Valve - GOTY edition]***If there's a thing that doesn't make sense, then it's the early sound cutoff bug this game has on my system. After trying solutions that work in every other game, I found on a forum that switching to sw rendering and back to D3D fixes it temporarily, and it did, even OpenGL rendering didn't have it. But both of those had some other issues I didn't want so I kept looking. Until I switched off vsync, and behold, sound clipping is gone. Fine and dandy with me, except it doesn't make slightest bit of sense. Video card setting that releases the framerate synchronization with screen refresh and allows the game to render more frames somehow allows the game to play the voice overs to the end. Other people have had similar issues with the game and all with different solutions, but those other solutions actually made sense.***Latest version: 1.112fm (as of 2001-04-28?), 1.4 for French

GoldenEye 007  Nintendo (Rare)1997You are Bond, James Bond. You are assigned to covet operations connected with the GoldenEye Weapons satellite. M will brief you on your mission objectives from London. Q Branch will support you with a supply of gadgets and weapons. Will you succeed?***The game creators discovered that grayscale textures were exponentially faster to render than RGB (color) textures. This also had the benefit of using less ROM memory. The vast majority of textures in GoldenEye are grayscale (in the hardware). Color is applied to these grayscale textures by applying colors to the vertexes bounding the textures when they are rendered.***

[27]***Based on Pierce Brosnan's first outing as James Bond, this game is superb. The telescopic aiming is excellent - this was the first game to feature it.***Amazing, I'll never forget this game. After Doom arrived there was nothing that really took the next step. There was Quake, but that never really took far from doom, but when goldeneye hit the shops it took a good while before anyone bettered it. Best multiplayer mode ever until all this new fangled network gaming came into play with Halo etc etc

MediEvil 2  Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE Studios Cambridge)2000In this sequel to MEDIEVIL, you control Sir Daniel Fortesque, the undead knight, as he makes his way around the world's foggiest city, London. Your arsenal ranges from swords to muskets, and if you defeat enough enemies on each level, you'll unlock its Chalice of Souls and be rewarded with special items. Gameplay is a mixture of platform-jumping, puzzle-solving, and good old hack-and-slash action.***ME2 is an OK game, with lots of dark humour involved. However it's let down by bad camera angles and an extreme difficulty level. Lucky there are in game cheats.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time  Nintendo1998"seruta no ten'setsu taimu no okarina" is the romanised Old Hylian title.
[Zerothis]***Released to an eager audience in 1998, The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time became an instant smash and quickly established itself as one of the greatest games ever made.

As legendary hero Link, you must journey across Hyrule, and even through time itself, to thwart the plans of Ganondorf. You'll wield weapons and gadgets, battle enormous bosses and solve brain-busting puzzles, which are among the best ever seen in the Zelda series.

Ocarina of Time brilliantly adapted the 2D, top-down style of classic Zelda adventures into 3D, becoming a textbook example of game design that is still followed today.

But the appeal of ‘Ocarina' lies not only in its cinematic visuals or groundbreaking combat system; it also impresses with its epic storyline, memorable characters, superbly designed dungeons and rich variety of gameplay. Quite simply, it's a masterpiece!***The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time reveals the genesis of the fantasy land of Hyrule, the origin of the Triforce and the tale of the first exploits of Princess Zelda and the heroic adventurer Link. Vibrant, real-time 3-D graphics transport players into the fantasy world of Hyrule. The quest takes them through dense forests and across wind-whipped deserts. Players swim raging rivers, climb treacherous mountains, dash on horseback across rolling hills and delve into dungeons full of creatures that fight to the finish to put an end to their adventures. With immersive graphics, a sweeping story line, swashbuckling adventure, mind-bending puzzles and a touch of humor, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is one of Nintendo's most epic challenges ever.***As the first fully three-dimensional title in the Zelda series, players must take on the role of a young boy with a grand destiny growing up in the Kokiri village. The young hero, Link, soon finds out that something is afoot when he is dispatched on an epic adventure by the Great Deku Tree. On his travels Link discovers he is destined to become the Hero of Time and save Hyrule from the evil Ganondorf. His travels take him across a vast and colourful continent as he battles through challenging dungeons - ranging from the eerie Forest Temple to the fiery caves of Dodongo Cavern. With hours of exciting gameplay this title is sure to keep even the most dedicated player busy for weeks.

Unique to the Zelda series, Ocarina of Time sees players taking on both the role of child Link and his young adult form. When he begins his journey, Link is an eight year old boy in an as yet untainted Hyrule. However, when he uncovers the fabled Temple of Time and the legendary Master Sword Link is too young to take on the role of Hero of Time so is transformed into a young adult. During this time Hyrule radically changes into a darker and more dangerous place.
Deku shrubs are pretty timid and a variety of attacks will make them surrender. But the quickest ammo free solution is one ground pounding swing with the Megaton Hammer
***The fifth in the Zelda series, this game takes place before all the others. The graphics are quite impressive, the story, although known to all Zelda gamers, is put in quire well, and the gameplay matches the value of any Zelda to date. A very good 3D translation for a well done game. Zelda fans will not be dissappointed with all the features this game has to offer.

Although it's not quite 'Game of the Century', Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a thrilling adventure from start to finish. It has huge dungeons, hundreds of puzzles, fun boss fights, and many secrets to uncover, all enveloped in a gorgeous 3D environment. It may be cliche to say this, but Zelda 64 is easily my favorite N64 game.
