Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars  Electronic Arts (EA Los Angeles)2007CnC3 is probably the hardest strategy game I know, and not because the AI is that good, but because it cheats so much. Even on the so called easy difficulty the game is frustratingly hard to even barely win (later) missions. Besides that I still like it, especially the revised GDI and the all new Scrin faction. As a game I would not recommend this to anyone but the masochistic players or diehard Tiberium series fans.***Latest version: 1.09 (as of ?)***March, 2047. A massive nuclear fireball explodes high in the night sky, marking the dramatic beginning to the Third Tiberium War and long-awaited return of the most groundbreaking Real-time Strategy franchise (RTS) of all time.

The critically-acclaimed Command & Conquer (C&C) series returns with Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars (C&C 3). Setting the standard for the future of RTS gaming once more, C&C 3 takes you back to where it all began—the Tiberium Universe.

In 2047, Tiberium has blanketed the Earth, which is now divided into zones based on the level of Tiberium infestation. Pristine Blue Zones represent 20% of the planet's surface and are the last refuge of the civilized world. Partially habitable Yellow Zones make up 50% of the planet's surface; most of the world's population lives in these war-torn and ecologically ravaged areas. The remaining 30% of the planet is uninhabitable, a Tiberium wasteland swept by violent Ion Storms. Red Zones are like the surface of an Alien planet.

The infamous Kane has returned to lead the Brotherhood of Nod in a massive global assault on the Global Defense Initiative and the few remaining Blue zones left on the planet. Only you can stop him. The fate of humanity – and the planet – is in your hands.

Featuring state-of-the-art, next-generation graphics, an epic story with live action, full-motion video sequences, and the classic fast-paced C&C style of play, C&C 3 sets the standard for the single player RTS experience.

When you decide to test your skills online, a suite of truly innovative features, such as the ability to transform online battles into a spectator sport, unfold.

Welcome back, Commander.

Conquests of Camelot: The Search for the Grail Sierra On-Line1990The Holy Grail

It is the most famous and sought-after object in the world. It is the stuff that dreams and legends are made of. It is the one thing that will heal the heart of a king and breathe life into a dying land. More than all these things, it is a symbol of the trials of body, mind and spirit that all people face in their search for meaning and truth. Come with us to Camelot as the legendary King Arthur sets out on his ultimate quest.

In pagan times, the legends of Camelot were told as epic tales full of fearsome battles and tests of faith. Bold, colorful and often brutal, these tales survived the ages. They were a tribute to the legendary High King of Britain who managed to bring the warring tribes of Saxons, Celts, Angles and Jutes under one rule and bring about a rebirth of Western civilization.

Sadly, in the last half century, the Arthur legend has been recast as a cartoon and children's story. The mystic rituals and dark passions that colored the original Arthurian legends have been watered down to the soft and toothless fairy tales most commonly seen today.

With Conquests of Camelot, designer Christy Marx has dug deep into the most ancient roots of legend to restore the power and passion of King Arthur and his court: his queen's forbidden love for Sir Launcelot; the struggle for supremacy between Christianity and the ancient Roman warrior-god, Mithra. The blending of myth, history and religion behind the Grail legend is dealt with honestly and directly.

This combination of pre-Medieval history and ancient legend makes for a more sophisticated, complex and powerful view of Arthur than any you may have seen before.

Conquests of Camelot designer Christy Marx is best known for writing the "Jem" animated TV series, and the "Sisterhood of Steel" comics and graphic novel. With her husband and professional partner, illustrator Peter Ledger, she has researched Arthurian myths and legends extensively for many years in preparation for writing this game.***

[Darkling Room / Iceberg]***You have unfinished business with the dead. Return to the Train Station and Hotel at Dowerton for a second time; there is a new mystery to solve, and new horrors to face.

The old buildings have deteriorated since your last perilous adventure, so you must watch your step, and never turn your back on the darkness...for something hides there; Something evil, unknowable and hungry. The dead of Dowerton are the least of your problems, as you are stalked from one derelict room to the next, by the Dark Fall itself. It wants your soul; to feed upon, devour and torture. You must make the ghosts of the hotel your ally, through any means you can. For it is only through successful exorcisms that you will gain the strength to battle the darkness that lurks in that long forgotten, abandoned place.

* A brand new Dark Fall horror adventure.
* From the pen of Jonathan Boakes, author of The Lost Crown.
* Explore a derelict train station & hotel, abandoned since World War 2.
* A new game engine allows full exploration and movement.
* Physically interact with the eerie setting, to really ‘feel’ the place.
* Use light as your weapon and ally, to fight the darkness.
* A hauntingly creepy stereo score, to chill, alarm and horrify.
* Explore the memories of the dead, in their own ‘nightmares’.
* Discover the true identity, and power behind, the Dark Fall itself.

Defender of the Crown Ultra Games;Palcom Software (Beam Software)1989The in-game story seems to refer to the end of the second crusade and one of the few battles that the crusading forces actually won. Undoubtedly this is backstory and the game is set some time later than 1149 and sooner than 1199 (which is the historical beginning of John of England's reign). Probably the murdered king mentioned is Henry II of England, who actually died of natural causes in 1189; but his health was certainly not improved by the actions of his sons, especial Prince John. Never the less, the in-game date begins counting from October 1149. The game takes much dramatic license. The player is one of the six knights mentioned in the story and all of these knights will be battling for England.

Defender of the Crown Cinemaware (Master Designer Software)1987Cinemaware says "512k", "Not compatible with Mac II", "800k Drive", "Hard disk installable"

This entry is tagged "macos3" (System 3.0) for minimum compatibility due to the 800k drive requirement in 1987. I'm pretty sure Apple never intended 800k drives for System versions 1 or 2 and even attempting this would require pointlessly downgrading a Mac to an older system software. (safe to say macos1 and macos2 are not supported, even if possible)

Defender of the Crown crashes before loading on Mac OS 8 or later. Cinemaware never provided a patch or workaround.

Defender of the Crown can be run using the OS Classic emulator, if properly configured.

Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde  Toho;Bandai (Advance Communication Company)1988"Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide" is often regarded to be one of the worst NES games ever. While I agree that it is really bad I must also admit that I have seen worse games. The concept of the game is unusual. You main task is to get Dr. Jekyll to his wedding. Once you die as Dr. Jekyll the game switches to Mr. Hide into a mirrored nightmarish version of the level. In the Mr. Hide part yo Neeu have to kill enough creatures to get enough power to switch back to Dr. Jekyll. The special thing or problem about this is the fact that once you reach the place with Mr. Hide where Dr. Jekyll died, he will die as well and the game is over. The concept does not work well but was worth a try. The graphics, especially the background graphics are also not too bad. What makes this game bad is the frustrating difficulty level, especially of the Dr. Jekyll part. Controls are bad and when you are hit you suffer a huge knockback. So playability stinks, but as I said at the beginning that was the case with quite some more NES games as well.***"Houma ga Toki" is used in official documentation.
