ARK: Survival Evolved Studio Wildcard2017Even when its mixture of animals and technologies from diferent epochs build up for an interesting ecosystem, there are some elements that make the game almost unplayable:
-Horrid graphic optimization (even in lowest settings the game lags a lot)
-Dossier pop-up: the last thing you want when fighting some ferocius creatures is a zoologic explanation right in your face.
-Level-based crafting and looting: slows progress for not reason at all.

In this role-playing adventure you are the Dragon Warrior!***"Dragon Quest" has its roots in the Ultima series, but rumour has it that Ultima was too complicated and complex for the Japanese videogaming market. So Dragon Quest, with its simple but very addictive structure, was an instant hit and the start for the most successfull RPG series in Japan. And it is pretty good. Not as non-linear and confusing than many early CRPGs. Nice graphics and music as well.***Product Number: NES-DQ-CAN NES-DQ-USA
Dragon Warrior is called Dragon Quest in Japan. The Japanese version (1986) used passwords but the US (1990) and Canadian versions used battery backed save RAM
A pen and paper RPG called Dragon Quest had already been published in the United States. For copyright reasons, the name Dragon Warrior was used. However, it turns out there was also Dragon Warriors RPG in existence at the time.

The English version was translated and published by Nintendo and strictly uses Early Modern English in conversational dialogs. Often mistakenly called King James English or Shakespearian English, but those styles were in fact derived from the Early Modern style (King James style also borrows extensively from Middle English). Early Modern English is in fact a bit more understandable than King James or Shakespearian English, for those who understand the contemporary Modern English of the late 20th century. The Japanese names for the characters and locations were changed into English names that better fit with the Early Modern English and a northern Europeanish location. The changes are influenced by the Arthurian Legends. The Nintendo version also made significant improvement in graphics and game mechanics. The number of menus was reduced. The protagonist could face multiple directions (instead of south only). Direction of talking and actions was automatically based on the direction the protagonist was facing rather than needing to be manually specified. Shorelines looked a bit like breaking waves instead of abrupt hard edges into sea water.

Dragon Warrior 64 UniKorn ProDucKions2020Kill monsters in 1-on-1 turn based combat to gain gold and experience. Explore the overworld. Enter dungeons to find treasure. Buy better weapons and armor. Rescue the Princess. Recover Erdrick's ball of light. Defeat The Dragon-lord.

A faithful reproduction of the original NES Dragon Warrior with only minor (non-gameplay) alterations save one. For minor example, in the beginning of both versions, the hero does not begin with weapon nor armor. Regardless, the hero is depicted holding a weapon and wearing armor in the NES version. This clone begins with the hero unarmed in a loin cloth and depicts him in a loin cloth without a weapon in hand. Equipping a weapon will then depict the hero with one and likewise armor. Random events are calculated differently. Again, the menu interface, all items, spells, quests, monsters, and such are the same. The only difference is the newly available Erdrick's Shield.

At the time of this article's publishing the game was at version 1.3 and there were several minor bugs. Only one of which required reverting to a previous save game.

Dungeon Hack  author? Linuxlabelimageminimize
Dungeons Kalypso Media Digital (Realmforge Studios)2011A mighty hero stalks through a dark, dank dungeon making life miserable for hordes of pitiable monsters as he steals anything and everything not bolted to the floor. Been there, done that - about a thousand times? Then it is definitely time to switch sides and show that hero just who's who in the dungeon!

Assume the role of a mighty (and mighty evil) Dungeon Lord and create your own diabolical demesnes underground. Dim-witted goblin workers tremble as they await your orders and dig corridors and rooms into the rock at your command.

Heroes will visit your dungeon in search of battle and treasure. Naturally, you could always just annihilate them with a snap of your fingers. But isn't it more entertaining and deliciously evil to watch them attain their heart's desire - and then take take it ALL away?

So throw them a few treasures and some equipment, give them a couple of fights for entertainment and cherish and look after them. And once they are finally happy enough - it's time for the "harvest". For happy heroes have more valuable soul energy for you to gleefully extract from them in your prison or torture chamber!

But even though these self-proclaimed warriors for the good are not much more than an excellent source of resources for you, you still should not underestimate them. If you've beaten up too many of their friends, the powerful and vindictive Champions will occasionally make their way to your Dungeon. Perhaps a small sum could persuade them to forget their moral and ethical principles for once?

In addition to the heroes, you should also always keep an wary eye on the underground. For the competition never sleeps, and other Dungeon Lords would like to claim your territory for themselves. As if that were not enough, another Dungeon Lord lives one level below you who, to top it all off, is also your boss and bombards you with useless tasks! Of course, it goes without saying that malicious and sneaky beings such as yourself are already hard at work trying to take his place!

Story
The game revolves around Deimos, foremost of all Dungeon Lords. He falls victim to a devious plot hatched by his vile, nasty, thoroughly vicious ex-girlfriend Calypso, and suddenly finds himself at the bottom of the hierarchy and the top of the dungeon once again.

As the story proceeds Deimos tries to regain his old place and have his well-deserved revenge on Calypso. First, however, he will have to deal with his new bosses. On the one hand , there's the Zombie King, who is about as intelligent as your average undead zombie is likely to be, and on the other there's hot-blooded Minos, who likes to solve problems using violence or, alternatively, more violence.

Key features:
* Be insidious! Three different Boss Monsters await in order to give you a real hard time. Get rid of them to become the one and only Dungeon Lord!
* Get ready for a fight! 10 different classes of heroes dare to enter your dungeon where 15 different monsters lurk in the dark
* The 17 campaign missions demand your whole cunningness as evil dungeon lord. If you manage to survive them there's still the custom game waiting for you.
* In a dungeons there's only one way: going down. 3 different levels wait to be conquered by you.
* Prison cells and torture chambers are ready for your command and await "customers"
* Create the dungeon of your dreams with 50 different objects
* Wimpy goblin workers await your commands and create the dungeon after your wishes.***I'd claim this is [game=#164254]Dungeon Keeper 3[/game] if I didn't know better.

A vague cross over of Dungeon Keeper 2, Overlord, and some obscure tower defense where you yourself need to kill all the foes personally.

Perhaps best way to describe Dungeons is that it's a Theme Park of Evil where everyone who is enjoying themselves (too much) or is trying to leave gets killed. Everything you build is to entertain the heroes while making sure they die before they leave or are completely satisfied (in which case some heroes just use town portal spell and disappear before you can intercept their escape).

10 de 10***Welcome to Vegas. New Vegas.

It’s the kind of town where you dig your own grave prior to being shot in the head and left for dead...and that’s before things really get ugly. It’s a town of dreamers and desperados being torn apart by warring factions vying for complete control of this desert oasis. It’s a place where the right kind of person with the right kind of weaponry can really make a name for themselves, and make more than an enemy or two along the way.

As you battle your way across the heat-blasted Mojave Wasteland, the colossal Hoover Dam, and the neon drenched Vegas Strip, you’ll be introduced to a colorful cast of characters, power-hungry factions, special weapons, mutated creatures and much more. Choose sides in the upcoming war or declare "winner takes all" and crown yourself the King of New Vegas in this follow-up to the 2008 videogame of the year, Fallout 3.

Enjoy your stay.

Key Features
* Feel the Heat in New Vegas! Not even nuclear fallout could slow the hustle of Sin City. Explore the vast expanses of the desert wastelands – from the small towns dotting the Mojave Wasteland to the bright lights of the New Vegas strip. See the Great Southwest as could only be imagined in Fallout.
* Feuding Factions, Colorful Characters and a Host of Hostiles! A war is brewing between rival factions with consequences that will change the lives of all the inhabitants of New Vegas. The choices you make will bring you into contact with countless characters, creatures, allies, and foes, and determine the final explosive outcome of this epic power struggle.
* New Systems! Enjoy new additions to Fallout: New Vegas such as a Companion Wheel that streamlines directing your companions, a Reputation System that tracks the consequences of your actions, and the aptly titled Hardcore Mode to separate the meek from the mighty. Special melee combat moves have been added to bring new meaning to the phrase "up close and personal". Use V.A.T.S. to pause time in combat, target specific enemy body parts and queue up attacks, or get right to the action using the finely-tuned real-time combat mechanics.
* An Arsenal of Shiny New Guns! With double the amount of weapons found in Fallout 3, you’ll have more than enough new and exciting ways to deal with the threats of the wasteland and the locals. In addition, Vault-Tec engineers have devised a new weapons configuration system that lets you tinker with your toys and see the modifications you make in real time.
* Let it Ride! In a huge, open world with unlimited options you can see the sights, choose sides, or go it alone. Peacemaker or Hard Case, House Rules, or the Wild Card - it’s all in how you play the game.***EAN-13:
0093155125049
***Welcome to Vegas. New Vegas.

King Kong 2: Ikari no Megaton Punch  Konami1986This game is based on the 1986 movie "King Kong Lives", which was also known as "King Kong 2" in Japan. Your goal is to rescue a lovely giant pink female gorilla at the end of nine levels. First you have to find eight keys throughout the levels, each guarded by a boss monster. The game plays similar to the overworld of [game=#9176]The Legend of Zelda[/game] or [game=#156357]Nazo no Murasame-Joe[/game], but lacks any RPG or adventure elements. Throughout the levels you can destroy many ground objects in the hopes to find extra items or hidden doors. I doubt however that the game's content has much to do with the movie. So many strange surroundings Kong has do wander through with even stranger enemies. "King Kong 2" is one of the first 2Mbit cartridge games and Konami did a good job with the graphics and music once again. The game also plays well enough.***The subtitle means 'Megaton Punch of Anger'.

Lurking I: Immortui oklabsoft2020A retro style RPG in look and feel. No hand-holding, no hint system, no metaprotection, and no step-by-step instructions. Talk to NPCs most information required. Permadeath is an option. Also, the rate at which the player can expect encounters has three levels to choose from. There is bare minimal (and skippable) story provided before the party is tossed into the wide open world. The player must speak to people to advance the plot and find the clues to discover the path to victory over evil. The evil that needs defeating must also be discovered. Games of this type from the early 1980s often came with maps, an instruction book, and one way or another had charts, monster lists, spell lists as such. Lurking provides equivalent information, but it is all provided by NPCs in-game and must be sought out by the player. Lurking began as an Apple ][ game in 1986. It was inspired by Ultima III. It later became a Windows game written in Visual Basic. The version of this game entry comes from a C language rewrite. It has some helpful modern features, such as a BACK option to see previous dialog in conversations and auto mapping, but nothing to make the game as easy as most modern CRPGs. Character creation is a matter of distributing 20 points to attributes and skills with no other restriction except 20 points. Some stats are derived from these with a random addition of up to 10% (it seems). The player can create a roster of 12 characters and play with
one to five characters at any time by finding a particular NPC and asking said NPC to DROP or ADD them.
. Skills and attributes each have their own upgrade system
that a particular NPC will explain
. Experience points and levels will be needed. There is a README provided with the game that suggests the first NPC to talk to but also says to talk to everyone everywhere. Some NPCs seem to be present at first only for world-building but it is implied in the README that every NPC will (eventually) provide important information.

"Immortui" is Latin for Undead(Zombies). But don't worry, this not a Zombie game. "Lurking" is English.

Moria  author? While moria is in Ubuntu repositories, this version often fails to run on older Ubuntu based distributions. Compiling from the sources in the Ubuntu repositories seems to have the same result. But the moria package from the Debian repos runs and compiles fine. moria from Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty repos works.***Deep Within the Mines of Moria the Balrog awaits. You are tasked with defeating it. Moria is obviously based on Tolkien's works. Moria has other Tolkien creatures and characters and some Dungeon's & Dragons inspired content also (D&D itself was heavily inspired by Tolkien's works). The player may choose a Human, Half-Elf, Elf, Halfling, Gnome, Dwarf, Half-Orc, or Half-Troll character and a Warrior, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Ranger, or Paladin class (note some races cannot choose some classes). Delve deeper for the best treasures, but going deeper is riskier; one slip and the protagonist dies, permanently, no resurrections, savegame deleted. No going back to an earlier save either, doing so marks your file and all records of your character will vanish on game over or winning.

Moria is based on the design of Rogue (it is a clone that shares no code or data with Rogue) but has notable variations in gameplay. Most significant is the 6 shops on the surface that the protagonist may visit to buy and sell equipment, supplies, armor, weapons, scrolls, books, potions, and magical items. The surface is only one screen in size, not really an 'overworld' like in Angband and other roguelikes based on this game. UNIX Moria also served as inspiration for the design of Diablo. Moria was created using VMS Pascal ("Moria") when Robert Alan Koeneke and Jimmey Wayne Todd found that Rogue, their addiction at the time, was not available on VAX-11/780 minicomputers. UNIX Moria (umoria) is a port of "Moria" written in C language. Many subsequent ports and forks of "Moria" were based on umoria. The original license permitting sharing and modification but not commercial use. At some point, an agreement was reached by every person who ever maintained Moria to release its source code under the GPL license. Linux umoria has since become the standard version of sorts and is even called "Moria" by the current maintainer. Although, it is still a actively maintained VAX/VMS game.

Pitfall!  Activision;CCE;Ariola (Activision)1982***David Crane originally designed the game with an entirely mortal Harry (1 death ends the game). Sadly, two weeks before production, he made the game easier by giving Harry multiple lives. Still, this is one of the most challenging games for the 2600, very few gamers have gotten all 32 treasures in the alloted 20 minutes. The world record for the fastest time is 18:52. (1:06 left on the clock). The best player in the world can only achieve a time that is 5.66% faster than required.

A 'Perfect Game' can be achieved by collecting all 32 treasures and never dying, never falling and never being damaged by a hostile object. The resulting score will be 114,000. There are 256 screens that connect end to end (screen 1 connects to screen 256). The underground (tunnels) skip around the ring of screens in a different order than the overworld. You can go left or right on any screen that doesn't have a brick wall in the way. The general consensus is that it is easier to go left from the starting screen because of the direction logs travel and dying starts you on the left side of the screen. However, to take the most efficient path to get all the treasures in time, start by going right. Also, unless you have a photographic memory, make a map.

There are many hacks available for download. Here is a few of the notable ones.
Pitfall Trainer: Timer removed & INF Lives, usefully cheat for cartography and practice.
Jungle Jane: A faster, meaner, better sounding, more colorful version with a female star.
Enhanced Pitfall +: 3 levels of difficulty, including 'Practice'. Scorpions climb ladders and travel screen to screen. There are additional treasures and enemies. Underground tunnels are smaller.
Bottomless Pitfall: Graphically enhanced. Can't go left from the start. Logs roll both ways. You restart a screen (after dying) from the side you entered. 10 hour clock and unlimited treasures, so a maximum scores are much more varied. Harry has hit points.

The rattlesnakes are not out of place in this game's setting, they are crotalus durissus, found in most countries in South America.
[Zerothis]***This is the game that makes a 2600 worth owning. Pitfall is an adventure game classic. Gameplay is simple yet challenging, repetitive yet enduring. In an age of multi-level 3D gaming worlds, Pitfall has yet to be equaled.
