Danu, the spirit of the moon, has turned his attention away from the activities of the cosmos to those of the earth. It is during such a time that the Gods bestow a fabulous gift to the greatest warrior in the land; a gift of ultimate power!

Fame, glory and bikini clad women await your victories and the taste of dirt awaits if you fail. Let a computer car beat you and you lose one of your 3 credits.

Successful races bring more money, which can be used to soup up their machine. Boosts to top speed, grip and acceleration can be purchased, and your nitro boost must be kept topped up. If you are desperate for upgrades, you can buy into your spare credits.

Only your off-road driving abilities will be enough to pull you to first place in these races. Play alone or with up to 3 other players (depending on the version) in this classic arcade game.***

Despite having on tag team more, a cooperative play mode is not available.
[Zerothis]***I give this anime-licensed title my respect for being one of the earliest tag team wrestling games. You choose two from eight available players, which are all rather weird looking, although the graphical representation of the characters leaves much to be desired. Also the rest of the graphics are rather plain looking, which in itself is not the most important thing, because it is an early NES/Famicom game after all. More important is the playability, which is a quite bad. The move-repertoire is limited to only a few basic moves. Sometimes a power pill is thrown into the ring and the character who catches it first is enabled to use a super attack move for a few seconds. I found this element too decisive to win a fight.***Widely-ridiculed wrestling game based on the popular Kinnikuman series (known as M.U.S.C.L.E. in the U.S.).

1 player, 2 players, 3 players, or 4 players simultaneous.

Based on the arcade game. The arcade game was limited to 3 human players and a computer player. In this version, there are always 4 trucks racing and all of them can be human players. The players race around stadium tracks full of obstacles that simulate off-road conditions. Nitros (1-5 each) and money ($10k-$40k each) appear on the course. Players also earn cash for placing. In between races, each player can upgrade their acceleration, suspension, top speed, tires, and stock up on nitros. Coming in last results in a game over, once you've passed race 15. Every track fits on the screen and there is no scrolling. The view is vaguely dimetric 3D. Obstacles do slow down the trucks and in rare cases can even cause an explode if the crash is violent enough.

TETЯIS  Tengen (AcademySoft;Tengen)1989From the game box:

From the land that has produced the greatest chess minds comes a very different mind game.
Developed by two Soviet programmers, TETRIS is the first computer game to breach the Iron Curtain. It now stands before you, not as a test of crude brawn, but an intense battle of wits.

TETRIS is a dynamic puzzle that seems easy enough; Rotate and flip moving geometric blocks into unbroken rows. When you completely fill up the bottom row, it disappears from the screen and the score rises. When enough rows vanish, the block descend faster and faster.
Nothing to it, right? Wriong! When you can't find the way to make the pieces together and more blocks tumble down to clog your screen, you'll wish you had ten hands ― and ten brains.
Warning: Although TETRIS may be great food for thought, it's so much fun, it's positively addictive. So don't forget to eat something to fuel your body (maybe apple pie?).
TETRIS and apple pie. Now that's détente!
***Pieces are made from 4 connected squares in 7 variations and can be rotated 90 degrees as they slowly drop until they hit bottom of 'the bucket' or other squares. Fill in all 10 squares in a row to make it vanish for points. Completing 2 or 3 rows at once results in bonus points. Completing 4 rows at once is called a 'tetris' and scores the most.
In this version of the game, 2 players can compete or cooperate in separate buckets or the same bucket. Also, AI players are provided for all 2 player modes. This version also has Russian music and dancers.
Enter the Konami code to change any piece to an I brick (the 'straight line' piece). This works while the game is paused. It only works once per game.
Trivia:
It is widely assumed in North America that 'TETЯIS', with the backwards 'R' (Cyrillic letter 'Ya') is the Russian spelling of the title. But this was simply faux Cyrillic typography. The correct Cyrillic is ТЕТРИС (ТЕТРИІС). Some packaging is shown ТЕТРИ☭, with the Cyrillic (Ukrainian) 'І' crossing a backwards 'С' to form a backwards ☭ (Unicode U+262D, ). Otherwise known as the hammer and sickle (Сърп и чук), A symbol of communism made famous on the Soviet flag.

According to a Tengen programmer, 200,000 unsold cartridges were "landfilled" after Nintendo sued Tengen.

[27]***One of the best racing games on the SNES. Has drift out technology built in. All round good game and must have for SNES.

No other racing game, not even Mario Kart 64, has come close to Super Mario Kart in terms of pure gameplay, fun, challenge, and longevity. The one-player game gave us a variety of courses that become increasingly more difficult the farther you progress. Track obstacles include ice, deep water, oil slicks, thwomps, and even areas where you can fall off the edge! And let's not forget how you could pick up and use various weapons to knock out the other racers, and that they could do that to you, too!
The two-player battle mode, in which players try to knock each other's balloons off, is probably the single best two-player game ever made. Mario Kart also has excellent play control and high speed Mode 7 graphics.

Basketball  Atari1978Basketball is an Atari 2600 game loosely based on the sport of the same name. The game features a simple game of one-on-one basketball, playable by one or two players.
At the start of the game, both players are at the center of the court. A jump ball is thrown between them, at which point play begins. The offensive player (the one with the ball) always faces the goal he's shooting at, and the defensive player always faces his opponent. Each player can move in eight directions with the joystick; the player with the ball constantly dribbles it. The defensive player may steal the ball when it leaves the opponent's hands (either in mid-dribble or mid-shot).
After either player scores, the shooter is reset to the center of the court, where he will start defending his opponent, and the defender is set under the basket to inbound the ball and take an offensive chance. The player with the highest score after four minutes is the winner.
The game features two difficulty levels using the Difficulty Switch on the Atari 2600. In 'B' position, the player can move from goal to goal much quickly than the 'A' position.******

Indy 500  Atari;Sears (Atari)1977RACE CAR: Whether you compete against the clock or another player, your race car tackles the curves of some dangerous tracks.

During 1-player games, you race against the clock using your left controller to move the car. The top left number on the playfield is the number of laps; the top right number is the time keeper.

In 2-player games, players race against each other. The top two numbers represent the number of laps each player completes. The right score refers to the right-controller player; the left number shows the left-controller player's score.

You'll hear the engines when they accelerate, and the CRASH when your car crashes into the opponent's car or playfield boundaries.

Car races begin at the starting line. Then, get ready, get set...GO!***

Baseball  Philips;Magnavox;Radiola (Magnavox)1978Baseball! follows basically the official rules of the real game. The three numbers on the scoreboard at the lower left side of the screen indicate Balls, Strikes and Outs, in that order. Players on defense can control the outfielders with the joystick. During the pitch, the joystick will control the ball's curve.

Once the batter hits the ball, the defense has to try to catch it. A ball caught on the fly is an automatic out. If it isn't caught, the outfielders have to catch it and send them to the fielders using the action and the directional stick to the desired direction.

A ball not caught on the fly will send the batter automatically to the first base. He can run to extra bases using the directional stick. A ball hit out of the park (the white line at the top of screen) is a home run and the batter will run all four bases automatically.

Three outs make teams exchange positions. The game length is nine innings, with additional innings in case of ties.******Baseball!, Magnavox AC9408, USA, 1978
