Much TV & Movie production are associated with the district. Its also a major center of celebrity culture.
This is not for games based on movies or for mere references to Hollywood or anything about the concept of Hollywood as cinema. The actual location needs to be included.
Historically the city government of LA has not officially established specific boundaries to neighborhoods or districts within. But they finally made an exception for Hollywood. As of 2006-08-28, It now encompasses the area east of Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, south of Mulholland Drive, Laurel Canyon, Cahuenga Blvd. and Barham Blvd. and the cities of Burbank and Glendale, north of Melrose Avenue and west of the Golden State Freeway and Hyperion Avenue.

Hollywood does not have its own city government but does have private organizations that tend to serve some government like functions for the area. The privately owned Hollywood Chamber of Commerce appoints an Honorary Mayor for ceremonial purposes. Also with the new official boundaries, the area gets a few of the benefits that a incorporated municipality gets, such as distinct record keeping for the area that is not lumped in with the rest of LA.

There is relatively little residential housing, people go there for recreation or to commute to work.
