Atari notably promised to create an coin-op game based on the one seen in the movie and this promise was included in the films end credits. But the game as seen in the movie was impossible to do with 1984 coin-op technology. It was barely doable with Hollywood special effects at the time. Atari managed to make a passable clone of it in vector graphics basing it on a Start Wars coin-op. But the end result was to expansive. The home version were also nixed by combined financial and technical difficulties. Ultimately, other games were given a Last Starfigter theme and sold as if they were created for the movie. However, in 2007, Rogue Synapse finally produced a game that duplicated the one seen in the movie. As of 2009, it has not found a publisher.
