According to this game's MobyGames entry, this is the same game as "Digital Championship Football", which was released 1965 on Mainframe computers. The stated release date of February 22, 1974 appears in the source code. No skill is involved here, everything is random but I easily cheesed the opponent by choosing "tricky run". By looking at the source code I see that there is a random event that didn't occur in this playthrough where a dog runs onto the field and interrupts play.
