7 de 10***A Dwarven Prince on a quest to reclaim his people’s stolen land will take you on a great journey. Explore a continent filled with buried treasures and unearth mysteries that lie hidden since the Great War. Take charge of your Dwarven settlement while mining, exploring and utilizing your resources with a combination of strategy and management.

Order the inhabitants of a Dwarven settlement to dig, build and conduct research in order to strengthen the clan. Be careful though because you must defend your Dwarves from the terrible beasts that lie in the depths. A unique world is generated each time a new level starts, so you will need to dynamically adapt your strategies and tactics during each session.

As you advance, the Dwarves will level up and gain new skills; progressing from weak dwarvlings to near immortal warriors or master craftsmen. There are also rare resources to be found deeper in the earth that grant access to better buildings and equipment. However, the deeper you dig the more dangerous foes you might unleash...

Features:
* Explore – The randomly generated maps offer replayability while also providing a sense of exploration
* Build – customize your settlement with not only practical constructions, but beautiful ones too! Build objects you think look great, while still gaining progress. Home is where the art is.
* Command – With an intuitive order system the player can easily control oodles of dwarves simultaneously without the need for extensive micro management

Delve Deeper! Lunar Giant Studios2010DLC packs:
* Delve Deeper: Gratis Grottos (2012-01-18) - adds 10 maps and 25 relics***It may be a bit vague how to start multiplayer game, but it requires either to have multiple controllers attached or taking turns selecting and configuring your teams. The latter works by player 1 selecting team and configuring its members and hitting ready, but before hitting in the middle for starting the game, second player chooses and configures their team, and repeat until all players have their teams. Only after all players have their team should the begin in the middle be clicked. This is unfortunately a bit vague as there are no clear prompts for it.***2010-06-30 original release
2010-09-24 Steam release with Steamworks integration.***Take command of five Dwarf adventurers as they dive into long-abandoned mines to search for incredible wealth, lost treasures, dangerous monsters and bragging rights at the drinking hall. Be wary though, up to four teams set forth at once, and your greatest obstacle may be a fellow Dwarf with a different colored hat!

Delve Deeper is a Adventure/Strategy game which pits you against monsters as you and up to three rival teams build an ever-changing dungeon map and compete to pilfer its loot as quickly as possible.

Game Features:
* Endlessly re-playable, fast and furious dungeon adventure meets devious tile-placement puzzler to generate a unique experience each time.
* Up to four players per map, each with a fully customized team of Dwarfs, commanded by your best friends or your hated nemesis, the Rival Dwarf AI.
* Gorgeous 2D pixel art graphics, fully animated characters, critters and combat.
* Quirky humor, with 100 uniquely named Relics to collect, dozens of themed rival dwarf teams, and the ever-present King of Dwarfs commending your success, lambasting your failure, and awarding you with snarky titles at the end of each match.***

Dwarf Fortress  Bay 12 Games2006Dwarf Fortress is a single-player fantasy game. You can control a dwarven outpost or an adventurer in a randomly generated, persistent world.

Although Dwarf Fortress is still in a work in progress, many features have already been implemented.

*The world is randomly generated with distinct civilizations spanning centuries of detailed history, hundreds of towns, caves and regions with various wildlife.
*The world persists as long as you like, over many games, recording historical events and tracking changes.
*Command your dwarves as they search for wealth in the mountain.
---Craft treasures and furniture from many materials and improve these objects with precious metals, jewels and more.
---Defend yourself against attacks from hostile civilizations, the wilderness, the depths, the dead and creatures of the night.
---Trade for all manner of exotic goods with your neighbors.
---Establish a barony and support the nobility as they make demands of your populace.
---Keep your dwarves happy and read their thoughts as they work and relax.
---Z coordinate allows you to dig out fortresses with multiple levels. Build towers or conquer the underworld.
---Build floodgates to divert water for farming or to drown your adversaries... and don't forget the magma!
---Surgery, sutures, splints, crutches and more: care for your wounded dwarves instead of leaving them to fend for themselves.
---Retire your fortress, then unretire it after spending time playing other roles in the world.

---Listen to rumors and help out town and civilization leaders.
---Earn a reputation as a hero, friend, soldier, enemy, thug, etc. with the various civilizations in the world.
---Retire and meet your old characters. Bring them along on an adventure with a new character or reactivate them and play directly.
---Z coordinate allows you to move between twisting underground caverns and scale structures, fighting adversaries above and below. Climb, jump and sprint!
---Stealth system with vision arcs which also respects vegetation density and other factors.
---Use signs like shoe impressions and animal tracks to hunt and avoid danger.
---Steal a mummy's treasure or learn the secrets of life and death at a necromancer's tower.
---Visit your retired fortresses and ask your dwarves to join you on adventures.
*The combat model uses skills, body parts, individual tissues, material properties, aimed attacks, wrestling, one-time opportunities, charging and dodging between squares, bleeding, pain, nausea, various poison effects and much more. Attacks and other movements extend over several instants, allowing you to deliberately catch enemy blows or plan your counter-attack.
*Hundreds of animals and other monsters, including many that are randomly generated for each world.
*Multi-tile climbable trees and many, many kinds of plants. Fruit, flowers and falling leaves.
*A dynamic weather model tracks wind, humidity and air masses to create fronts, clouds, rain storms and blizzards.
*Over two hundred rock and mineral types are incorporated into the world, placed in their proper geological environments.

*Extended ASCII character set rendered in 16 colors (including black) as well as 8 background colors (including black).

2006 First public release

At the time of writing, the game is still in alpha. We (UVL management) should consider this "finished" (as in, set the release date for) when the game has implemented everything everything in the core components and reqs described in this page. However, unlike many other games listed as "in development" here on UVL, Dwarf Fortress is quite playable already.

Dwarfs!?

7 de 10, ahora sé que los enanos se generan de jarra en jarra.***Dwarfs!? offers an addictive, fast paced arcade-like experience, with plenty of difficulty levels and game modes to play, in the tradition of great games such as "Lemmings" and "Dwarf Fortress."

As the new overseer for your underground Dwarf base, your job is to manage the small colony and make it as rich as possible, before they meet their inevitable doom! To survive as long as possible, you’ll have to steer and guide your greedy little fellows to the richest points in the caves, while avoiding all the dangers – so they don’t end up destroying your Town Hall and its essential supply of beer. They explore for you, they mine for you and they fight for you - but if you don't keep an eye on them, they'll do what they do best: die for you and take everyone else with them. But, if all else fails when the Spider Queen comes for you – use the Outpost’s Dwarf Cannon and shoot Dwarfs at her!

There are only 3 certainties in this world: death, taxes and that Dwarfs always dig too deep!

Key features
* Fun for all ages and skill levels of gamers, with randomly-generated caves so the game is different every time.
* Madly Addictive Arcade Mode: 4 difficulty levels ranging from casual to crazy hard-core, time limits from 5 minutes to endless, randomly-generated caves and all the gold and monsters you can handle!
* Base Defense Mode: Tower Defense gameplay, except you don’t have a tower. And your Dwarfs dig the routes. Then you defend against waves of monsters!
* Rush Mode: Can you handle Dwarfs spawning at insane rates and digging everywhere?
* Dark Mode: This time, the only light is in the tunnels your Dwarfs dig. Spooky!
* Campaign Challenges: Tutorials where you can learn all about being a Dwarf Overseer in a few minutes and Challenges where you can put those Overseer abilities to the ultimate test.
* Leaderboards: Compare the size of your beard (and your scores) with your friends and the rest of the world.
* Sandbox Mode: Create your own caves!
* Codex: Alongside the integrated help system is the Codex – the fount of all Dwarf knowledge! Contains everything you need to know, including video tutorials for the budding Overseer.
* Medals and Achievements: Lots and lots of shiny stuff to collect and show off to your friends!
* Fully Integrated with Steamworks™
* And Zombies. Not to mention goblins, skeletons, spiders, dark elves and more.

A bit short and lots of palette swapped enemies but the levels vary a lot and the gameplay is solid. Graphics are pretty well done as is the music (though not as good as the music in the Amiga version).***Three mighty heroes have a score to settle with the evil Death Adder in this classic action game. As a powerful fighter, a female amazon, or a mighty dwarf, you'll fight through Adder's henchman with weapon and magic attacks or ride the fearsome, fire-breathing beasts to your advantage.***The Genesis version is considered by many to be the second-best port to own (next to the Amiga) but is more common overall. In fact many people would refer to Golden Axe as a Genesis game rather than an arcade title; this is an indicator of its massive popularity being perhaps greater than that of even the arcade original.

As a special treat for home users who think they already know the arcade game inside and out, the game continues for 2 more levels after you think you've beaten the last boss. These two levels (and the boss they end with) are exclusive to the Genesis port. Also it has the now-familiar 'Duel' mode that has appeared in all other ports and sequels in some form or other.

When this title came out in 1989 to accompany the new console (alongside Altered Beast and SEGA's reprogrammed version of Capcom's Ghouls and Ghosts), gamers were rubbing their eyes in disbelief: here was a machine that was bringing their favourite arcade titles home. Gamers had always been forced to accept that the arcade would always give them the hottest gaming experience while consoles got cut-down ports, but the Genesis proved them wrong. Not only were their favourite games recreated almost perfectly, they had SEGA's legacy of additional game modes, options, and difficulty levels to look forward to.

Ever since, gamers have expected consoles not to be just better than the previous consoles, but to recreate arcade-perfect visuals (or in some cases Windows PC-perfect visuals). The days of arcade superiority were gone for good. And now we see arcades dropping in popularity and closing down, while there is an Xbox or similar console taking pride of place in most homes.

Trivia: (from MobyGames)
'The game is banned in Germany for violence (ban issued on 30.05.92). The game 'Golden Axe: The Duel' is not affected.'
--I have looked into this, and it appears all ports may have been affected, but certainly the Genesis, Arcade, and Amiga ports.

Even More Trivia from Mame.dk Golden Axe page
'The kanji [Japanese character] on the title screen actually reads 'Senpu', meaning 'Fighting Axe'. This is an example of 'gikun', where Japanese artists use the phonetic value of a character to determine the game's name, and not the meaning of the character itself.'
