Abuse  Origin;Red Hat (Crack dot Com)1995This game brought new innovations from the 3D shooter back to 2D games. Such as aiming with the mouse while moving with the keyboard. Originally the game was for MS-DOS and Linux. Origin (was sold to Electronic Arts by then) was the original publisher.
[Zerothis]***You are Nick Vrenna. It is the year 2009. You have been
falsely incarcerated inside a high security underground
prison where illegal genetic experiments are taking place.

Alan Blake, the head research scientist, has isolated the
specific gene which causes violence and aggression in
humans. This genetic sequence, called 'Abuse', is highly
infectious, causing horrific transformations and grotesque
side-effects. You are the only person to show immunity to it

A prison riot erupts, and in the confusion all the cell
doors ar opened. Soon everyone, guards and convicts
alike, become infected and transform into a horde of
mutants which take over the building.

Your only chance for escape is to don battle armor and
reach the Control Room situated in the structure's deepest
level. You must first stop the prison's Abuse-infected
water supply from contaminating the outside world. Freedom
and the fate of the world now depend on you.

BioForge Origin Systems;Electronic Arts (Origin Systems)1995In the far future, a fanatical group of religious extremists known as the Mondites have begun a campaign of galactic conquest. They believe in the evolution of man through machine by cybernetic implants. You are one of the unlucky victims: a prisoner in a Mondite complex on a distant moon, with no memory of your former life. Your body has been turned into a hideous cybernetic nightmare by the evil Dr. Mastaba. It is up to you to explore the complex (abandoned and on the verge of nuclear meltdown), discover the secrets of the Mondites and the mysterious remnants of alien civilization they've discovered, and get out alive from this moon.

BioForge is an action game with puzzle-solving, technologically similar to Alone in the Dark, featuring polygonal (and textured) characters over pre-rendered backgrounds. The adventure elements involve the hero collecting items and figuring out puzzles in order to get to new places and discover the secrets of the complex. The action elements involve combat against foes robotic and alive, both with melee weaponry and with guns, though some enemies require trickery rather than force to defeat.

Numerous journals, documents and diaries are found throughout the game; these are all recorded and can be re-read at any time.***
[22]***The ending gave me the impression of future sequels, but since there's been none, the project must've been canned (if there even ever were plans for them).

Bobo  Infogrames1988BoBo is a cartoon style arcade game. The main character is Bobo, an inmate who has been sentenced for seventeen years. He must do many chores, such as peeling potatoes, ladling soup to his fellow prisoners, helping his fellow prisoners to escape, jumping electric wires and singing lullabies to his snoring cell mates. It is possible to play through the events in a sequence or one at a time. Up to six players (alternating, not simultaneously) can play this game.

Each event can be played with joystick or keyboard. The specific moves you have to make vary from event to event but it come basically down to moving the joystick or keyboard keys fast from left to right. It is also possible to pick things up and toss them.***

Final Fantasy VIII  Eidos (Square)2000 Windowslabelimageminimize
Final Fantasy VIII  Square1999Ultimate character customization "Junction system" Junction system is G. F. (Summoned Beast, Guardian Force) is a system that strengthens abilities by junctioning items (other than items such as items and weapons) to characters.
In addition, remember the junction abilities (attack power junction, defense power junction etc.), you can further enhance the character by junctioning magic (Thunder, Fire etc.) to its abilities. In other words, you can customize characters indefinitely by combining character × abilities x magic.***Final Fantasy VIII, the sequel to Squaresoft's first PlayStation RPG, doesn't feature any of the characters from the original, but it does continue to deliver great gameplay. The story this time centers on Squall Leonhart, a young man in the military who is soon pulled into an adventure that spans the globe. Along the way, other characters can be recruited, ranging from the always-hyper Selphie to the egotistical Irvine. Nobuo Uematsu, who has composed the music for every Final Fantasy game, again scores the music. Featuring 3D characters and pre-rendered backgrounds, Final Fantasy VIII is one of the most impressive looking games ever.***

[27]***FF8 is the most controversial from 7, 8 and 9. This is due to the radically different gameplay system. Examples of this include enemies that level with you, requiring component parts to make new weapons, and junctioning magic to make attributes higher. Personally, I loved it.
[Haoie]***This is, without a doubt, the worst of the final fantasies. No armor, No shopping for weapons, An extremely annoying system for aquiring gil... These all together could be overlooked, even with the so-so graphics.
The Real Killer, though, is the main character. Squall is nothing but an uncaring, insensitive, pompous, conceited, jerk. The fact that he 'gets better' later in the game doesn't matter... If you don't want to get there with him in the first place.

GoldenEye 007  Nintendo (Rare)1997You are Bond, James Bond. You are assigned to covet operations connected with the GoldenEye Weapons satellite. M will brief you on your mission objectives from London. Q Branch will support you with a supply of gadgets and weapons. Will you succeed?***The game creators discovered that grayscale textures were exponentially faster to render than RGB (color) textures. This also had the benefit of using less ROM memory. The vast majority of textures in GoldenEye are grayscale (in the hardware). Color is applied to these grayscale textures by applying colors to the vertexes bounding the textures when they are rendered.***

[27]***Based on Pierce Brosnan's first outing as James Bond, this game is superb. The telescopic aiming is excellent - this was the first game to feature it.***Amazing, I'll never forget this game. After Doom arrived there was nothing that really took the next step. There was Quake, but that never really took far from doom, but when goldeneye hit the shops it took a good while before anyone bettered it. Best multiplayer mode ever until all this new fangled network gaming came into play with Halo etc etc

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena Vivendi Games (Starbreeze Studios;Tigon Studios)2009This is an action/stealth game in which players engage in first-person fighting and gunplay as they attempt to escape from a maximum-security interstellar prison. Players use firearms (assault rifles, shotguns, pistols), hand-to-hand weapons (fists, knives, clubs), and stealth moves (e.g., neck-snapping, strangulation, and throat-slashing) to kill security personnel, hostile prisoners, and humanoid mutants. Some kills can result in enemies getting stabbed in the eye or being dismembered, resulting in limbs that explode and litter the ground. Red blood often splatters on the environment when enemies are attacked or killed. Players can also encounter a character that masturbates in his prison cell. Although the character's back faces the player during the act, the sequence lasts for about 45 seconds and involves some moaning and shuddering. Dialogue within cutscenes contains some sexual references (e.g., rape and necrophilia) and strong use of profanity (e.g., 'f*ck,' 'c*nt,' and 'p*ssies').***Remake of [game=Escape from Butcher Bay]Escape from Butcher Bay[/game] with added and improved content and longer story involving Riddick's "assault" on a mercenary ship called Dark Athena. [b]dementia[/b] - the protagonist is clearly insane, seeing himself as literal monster when he enters an adrenaline induced rage, during which he can tear his enemies limb from limb. Others do not see the monster, though. Also considering the final boss is a manifestation of his hate, the events of that fight are rather questionable. There are also other people who are more or less insane, such as Dr. Killjoy.
[b]outlaw protagonist[/b] - possibly framed, but this isn't established solidly in the first game. The sequel seemed to expand on this.

[Box blurb]***I seem to recall that one of the "evil bastards" implied that the protagonist was responsible for all the shit going on.

The game blocks normal printscreen key usage, so taking screenshots of any kind requires 3rd party software which I personally don't have or know of any that don't add ads to the screenshots such as Fraps.
