I seem to recall that one of the "evil bastards" implied that the protagonist was responsible for all the shit going on.
The game blocks normal printscreen key usage, so taking screenshots of any kind requires 3rd party software which I personally don't have or know of any that don't add ads to the screenshots such as Fraps.
