This can also be done with the first Dry Bones you meet in the 2nd fortress In level 3-4: Past the pool of water pounce the koopas once and let them live. Kill the para-goombas. Grab a koopa and kick him between the two blocks below the pipes. Stand on the middle blocks and hopfully avoid Lakitu's eggs. When the 9th eggs fall in the path of the bouncing koopa, you will begin scoring 1-ups. In level 3-4: Kick a koopa between two cannons where it will destroy the bullets.[/spoiler][spoiler=The incredibly clumsy Frog Suit;Frong Suit]It is most useful in entering pipes that have a current flowing out of them. The game that made these things common knowledge is also considered by many to be one of the best ever made. Bowser and the Koopalings are causing chaos yet again, but this time they're going beyond the Mushroom Kingdom into the seven worlds that neighbor it. Now Mario and Luigi must battle new enemies, returning favorites and a new Koopaling in each unique and distinctive world on their way to ultimately taking on Bowser himself. Luckily for the brothers, they have more power-ups available than ever before. Fly above the action using the Super Leaf, swim faster by donning the Frog Suit or defeat enemies using the Hammer Bros. Suit. Use the brand-new overworld map to take the chance to play a minigame in hopes of gaining extra lives or to find a Toad's House where you can pick up additional items. All this (and more) combines into one of gaming's most well-known and beloved titles—are you ready to experience gaming bliss?**For me, this was the game that started it all! It was the first NES game I ever beat (sorry, I was a little late with getting an NES), and it drew me back into the video game world that I had long since abandoned after years of lackluster Atari games. Even when playing it today, I still think it is one of the greatest games of all time. SMB3 has a multitude of levels with varying, but always creative, obstacles, loads of secrets, special suits (like Tanooki and Hammer Bros.), lots of new enemies, and Kuribo's Shoe! Although much of the game is relatively easy, SMB3 does have its moments of difficulty, and World 8 is a real challenge! [Spiez]	NES

[32]* [29]* [27]During a vacation in Dinosaur Land, Princess Toadstool gets kidnapped and a spell is cast on the inhabitants of the island. When they stumble upon Yoshi, a young dinosaur, Mario and Luigi learn that Bowser is responsible for the terrible misdeeds. Now, all Yoshis are trapped in magical eggs that Bowser has hidden throughout seven castles. Many hidden paths aid Mario in making his way to Bowser's castle, completing 74 areas and finding all 96 exits. Discover items, including a feather that gives Mario a cape that allows him to fly, or a flower that shoots fireballs in layers upon layers of 2-D scrolling landscapes. Players can even ride Yoshi and swallow their enemies.This is by far the best platform game ever created. Nothing ever came close to it, and is still greatly enjoyable.*A great, colorful game that vastly improved on the already popular Super Mario Bros. 3 and sold quite a number of Super NES bundles. With the addition of new moves like the spin jump, the new cape power-up (which takes the place of the raccoon tail from the previous game), and Yoshi, Mario's new dinosaur sidekick and transportation, there's plenty to explore here. Breath of Fire II features four new fighting formations, which allows for greater control and strategy in battle. Adding even more depth to the series, players can combine their party members with Shamans to create enhanced characters.*Featuring a wide range of characters and personalities and a vast, endless world to explore, Breath of Fire II is the sequel to the original smash-hit role-playing game. In a world set 500 years after the previous installment, in a frontier village known as Gate, the father and sister of a young boy known as Ryu are suddenly abducted. Strangely, all the villagers appear to have completely forgotten everything about the incident, and Ryu has instantly become an orphan. At a church, Ryu meets Bow, another orphan in a similar predicament, and they slip away from town together to begin their adventure. Take advantage of the multiple game-play viewpoints found in the game (such as the quarter-view perspective during battles that made the original game so popular) to use exciting abilities like shaman fusing and dragon transformations and help these two heroes complete their mission.This is a traditional RPG, and doesn't really do anything drastically different from other games in the genre with the battles. Enemy encounters occur at random while you are walking on the overworld, or when you're going through an area such as a tower or a cave. By looking at your menu, you are able to get a rough idea about how many random battles there are likely to be in the particular area you are in. Though they occur more at some areas than others, there will be many enemies to fight. This can become frustrating, particularly when you are in a confusing area or maze.**Another classic RPG that was butchered by Nintendo during translation. Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter	Capcom;CE Europe (Capcom)	2002	The story and location (the world) are unrelated to earlier BoF games, gameplay also was revised almost completely. Besides using some very recognizable parts of the series (Ryu, Nina, transformation into a "dragon", etc.), the reason for labeling this game under BoF is a marketing mystery. If they had bothered to completely cut ties with BoF, the experimental nature of the game would've likely been received much better instead of being targeted by BoF fans with scorn.
