Anomaly 2 11 bit studios2013In the years following the invasion of Earth in 2018, the planet is overrun by alien machines. Humankind is on the verge of extinction. Banded together in huge convoys, they search the frozen tundra for food and supplies. Since the war, the roles have been reversed: now our species seems to be the Anomaly on a machine-controlled planet. Your convoy, Commander, is called Yukon.

Anomaly 2 is a real-time strategy game that takes the tower offense concept from Anomaly Warzone Earth to a new level. Maintaining the core concepts of the original – tactical planning and the on-field Commander to support troops in combat – Anomaly 2 introduces a number of important new features:

* Morph your troops into war mechs to discover the new face of strategy: each unit has a different mech form with various abilities to help you overcome specific combat situations.
* Engage in a multiplayer experience unique to Anomaly 2: tower defense vs. tower offense. Play as the towers and destroy the humans or lead the humans to annihilate the alien towers.
* Fight across a post-apocalyptic world in a new single-player campaign that offers a more intense strategy experience than the acclaimed original.
* Carve your own path to victory and create your ultimate battle squad. With over million tactical combinations to build your squad, your options in combat are nearly endless.
* Dive into a beautifully rendered world, thanks to the team’s new and improved visual engine:
* Experience alternative endings dependent upon your approach to enemy machines in the campaign.

7 de 10***Deluxe Edition adds 3 maps: Palazzo Medici, Santa Maria Dei Frari, and the Arsenal Shipyard. Ad speech mentions secret treasures and nothing else. Unknown if this means simply florins or actual equipment.***Undefined game-play elements: blending in with the crowd, hiring prostitutes (or others?) to serve as cover (controllable crowd) or to distract those who'd wish you harm.***Continues Desmond Miles' story right where it ended in the first game, even if Altair is no longer his alter ego inside the Animus.

Assassin's Creed II  Ubisoft (Ubisoft Montreal)2009Players 'relive' the life of an assassin during the Italian Renaissance in this open-world action adventure game. The goal is to exact revenge upon conspirators who have framed and executed loved ones; the goal is to be accomplished through assassination. As players roam the crowded streets of Florence, Italy, they can creep through catacombs and corridors, undertake diverse side-missions, and tail-and-assassinate all manner of human targets—politicians, Templar soldiers, conspirators. Players can also brawl with family rivals or engage in sword fights with Templar soldiers, but in most cases, they use stealth techniques to complete the mission; for example, players can sneak up on enemies from behind and kill them with hidden daggers, poisoned daggers, spring-activated blades, and swords. When blades connect, blood shoots out in a fountain-like manner as targets groan or scream. These stealth-kills are sometimes depicted close-up and are somewhat graphic: the camera follows the 'herky-jerky' thrusts of the blade; the player hears a distinctly 'wet' flesh-impact sound. The most graphic depictions of violence occur during cinematic cutscenes (the following two scenes do not involve players' character): A businessman, crawling away from a Templar leader, gets pinned to the ground by a sword through his neck; a young nobleman is ambushed by rivals, begs for mercy, then gets stabbed multiple times in the chest amid screams of 'Muori! Mouri! Mouri!' [Die! Die! Die!]. The spurts and sprays of blood that accompany some of the stabbing attacks can be intense.

The game contains strong sexual overtones. During one 'seduction mini-game,' players are able to press buttons to kiss a woman and remove her dress; with the woman's back facing the camera, the two characters lower to bed and blow out a candle. Some scenes take place inside brothels, though no nudity or sexual acts are depicted. The dialogue contains the following sexual references: 'So the whip or the paddle today?' and 'Does your wife know about your page-boy fantasies, Captain?' Character backstories, narrated through still-frame vignettes, explain how villains and historical figures achieved their notoriety; some biographies include references to adultery, sodomy, prostitution, and rape (e.g., 'Caterina was captured and sent to Rodrigo Borgia . . . who kept her imprisoned for a year and is rumored to have raped her alongside his son.'). One cutscene depicts a man and a woman wearing translucent, flesh-toned bodysuits as they flee from danger. The digitized lighting effects, the glow from their futuristic suits, obscure most of the details, though outlines of breasts and buttocks are partially discernable (i.e., not definitively nudity). Consumers may also wish to know that the game contains strong profanity, both in English and Italian (e.g., 'f**k,' 'sh*t,' c*zzo,' and 'm*rda'); the most explicit instance occurs when a man frantically describes a 'vision'—'I'm at the opera . . . the soprano is so beautiful . . . I'm in bed with her, she cries as I f**k her.'

Assassin's Creed II  Ubisoft (Ubisoft Montreal)2009Assassin's Creed II is the product of over two years of intensive development by the original creative team behind the Assassin's Creed brand. In a vast open world environment, the game invites players to incarnate Ezio, a privileged young noble in Renaissance Italy who's been betrayed by the rival ruling families of Italy. Ezio's subsequent quest for vengeance plunges players into an epic story that offers more variety in missions, surprising and engaging new gameplay elements, diverse weapons and a profound character progression that appeal to fans of the original Assassin's Creed as well as entice players new to the brand.***data import - from [game=#171749]Bloodlines[/game] via the "Remote Play" function. Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath  Electronic Arts (EA Los Angeles)2008Far more enjoyable to play than the base CnC3 in my experience, and the difficulty options actually work properly in this. In terms of story, Kane's Wrath is sort of a filler, covering things between second and third tiberium wars, clarifying some events of third tiberium war and shows part of the events leading to CnC4. If anyone is ever interested in CnC3, then this is the only reason to get it, besides following the story of Kane (Tiberium series) if you're into that sort of thing. Thisis also very much focused on mutliplayer experience as the story only allows you to play with Nod and its sub-factions and only cursorily demonstrating the new sub-factions for GDI and Scrin.***In the name of Kane! The Command & Conquer™ series continues to thrive with Command & Conquer™ 3: Kane’s Wrath. As the expansion pack to the critically-acclaimed and fan favorite, Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars™, this Real-time Strategy (RTS) game returns to the Tiberium Universe with Kane at the center of an epic new single player campaign spanning 20 years – from the rebirth of the Brotherhood of Nod after the Second Tiberium War through the dramatic events of the Third Tiberium War and beyond. This story will be told through a new set of high-definition, live action video sequences starring a celebrity cast including Joe Kucan, playing the megalomaniac leader of the Brotherhood of Nod, alongside new talent Natasha Henstridge and Carl Lumbly. With your help, Commander, the Dark Messiah may rise again!

Fable: The Lost Chapters Microsoft (Lionhead Studios;Big Blue Box Studios)2005This was an expanded re-release of [game=#155049]Fable[/game].

And according to Wikipedia, the changes were as follows:
* Five new silver keys, and a few more silver key chests.
* Two new suits of armor — the "Fire Assassin" suit, which is very similar to the normal assassin suit but with a red cloth and designs, and the armor of Archon, which is a shinier and stronger version of the standard plate armor in the game.
* A new torso armor — The hooded guild apprentice shirt.
* Two new offensive spells — "Divine Fury" and "Infernal Wrath"; area of effect spells which deal large amounts of damage to opponents in the player's radius.(some spells look slightly different, such as Assassin's Rush now bearing a blue after-effect instead of a white one).
* Briar Rose; a hero who was almost entirely scrapped from the original release, is now included in several main quests and side quests.
* Scythe; another hero who was cut from the original game, is now a primary character in the new end game, and appears early in the game based on the player's actions.
* Jack of Blades; the main antagonist, has a deeper, more demonic-sounding voice as opposed to his original roguish tone, and he has a more explored background.
* Jack of Blades transforms into a dragon, the new final boss.
* Several new demon doors.
* The Northern Wastes, which were cut from the original release, are back. There are about six new locations there, which contain a new town, a demon door, some silver key chests, and an extension of the story.
* The Darkwood Bordello, an area cut from the Darkwood portion of the game. Finding it allows access to a couple of sidequests, a new demon door, behind which is the "Pimp Hat", and of course, the bordello itself. The player has the option of owning the bordello, and making lots of money (for some 'evil' points), or making it a women's refuge (for 'holy' points).
* Several new weapons, including a sword called Avo's Tear, which acts as an opposite to the Sword of Aeons. Avo's Tear can only be acquired by a good character after destroying the Sword of Aeons in what was the original end of the game. The other weapons are: The Bereaver, The Avenger and Orkon's Club.
* The player may now solve the mystery surrounding the death of Lady Grey's sister.
* The player can now become the Mayor of Bowerstone.
* Several new sidequests and minigames.
* New monsters — Ice Trolls, Summoners, Wraiths, and Frost Balverines.
* New actions — The player may now do several new dances, like the Cossack dance and air guitar.
* The Sword of Aeons has had a downgrade to make the new game elements harder yet still remains one of the strongest weapons in the game. (Because of its speed as a light weapon, it can hit much faster as a heavy weapon.) The sword has a damage rate of 230, whereas in the original Fable it had 550.
* The Battle Charge spell no longer affects non-hostile and non-targeted characters.
* Demon Doors on the mini-map are purple instead of red to eliminate confusion between enemies.
* Flourish-charged weapons now glow purple instead of fiery to eliminate confusion of fire-augmented weapons.
* Jack of Blades' mask is no longer a trophy, but a quest item. Depending on the second ending that the player chooses, the mask can either be worn or destroyed. (Once worn, it can never be removed)
* After Jack of Blades is defeated the first time, the Hero Guild is rebuilt and completely accessible.
* Ripples in water are now more continuous instead of "pulses" and have a slightly different look.
* Timers turn red when there are only ten seconds left.
* You can find Whisper at the Oakvale Tavern after the Arena if you choose not to kill her.
* There is now an Oracle in the game which can be asked questions. Once the player reaches the Oracle, it can tell them what has happened to the other characters in the game, such as Whisper and the Hero's sister Theresa, which increases the impact of some of his earlier decisions. It can also talk to the Hero about a number of other topics, including information about Albion's past and where certain monsters come from, the which adds much more lore to the game.
* Bug fixes.
***Follow one character from birth to death, every action you take affects your charactor's stats but also their physical appearence. Get a tan or sunburn, pump your mussles or grow fat, get tattoos, aquire scars, build your rep. Play again for a totally different character and experience. His growing supernatural powers may be used in various ways. He will eventually become able to control objects and people with mind power, move objects around without touching them. Lucius even has the incredible mind power to dictate weak people into causing destruction and pain.

He was born on the 6th of June in 1966 and when he had lived his sixth year on earth, he finally started to show signs of his true origin.

The mansion is full of unrevealed mysteries that paint a story behind the family and how it became tangled with evil, but what is already clear is that Lucifer had taken the soul of the boy and replaced it with his own blood.

It's up to you to see that he cannot be stopped...

In short: third person action/driving sandbox in the 40s-50s.

Pros:
Great atmosphere and details, especially in cars.
Great jazz and rock music
Collectables that are worth the time to search them

Cons:
The action is too often limited for a videogame, too filmic.
Very limited choices in the story

Sencillo, divertido y adictivo.

8 de 10***prejudice — most notably in the first level when you play as young Witch-boy. The name is obviously derogatory and many of the adults remark on your odd looks and the other kids actively bully you (though you bully back).
suppression — any town in your or Glorious Empire's control. Your mind control of the populace is more effective, but the peasants apparently retain their ability to speak with their own mind (which usually involves their poor treatment), they're simply forced to work rather than being controlled absolutely.
unusual protagonist — human(?) with magic abilities is apparently quite rare, though his skin is also blue and tattooed by nature with glowing eyes and other features that make him look evil. Likely the reason he's called Witch-boy even from early childhood.
possession — occasionally you get to possess one of your minions so you can direct them in places where your "Imposing Presence" can't quite fit.

--- not applicable (explanations for "why not?")
Children - only encountered during growing phase.

--- notes
* Unlike in the original Overlord game, the protagonist is quite useful in melee combat. You actually deal damage faster than any of your minions to single enemies and large masses, this was reversed in the original where you could barely do anything useful without your minions (besides throwing magic at them).***Note! The internet multiplayer is accomplished solely through a matchmaking service, so you CAN'T play multiplayer online with anyone specific you might want to (fox example, your friends)..***2009-06-25 on Steam (lang: eng, fre, ger, spa, ita, pol)

However, Red Faction 3 (takes place in ~2125) seems to ignore RF2 and Wikipedia shows the year as 2080.

When the massive Terraformer that supplies Mars with its Earth-like air and weather is destroyed, the atmosphere turns to chaos, super-tornados and lightning storms engulf the planet. To survive, the Colonists flee to the underground mines and build a network of habitable caves.

Five years later, Darius Mason, grandson of Martian Revolution heroes Alec Mason and Samanya, runs a lucrative business from Bastion, underground hub of Colonist activity. Mining, scavenging, mercenary work--if the job is dangerous, Darius is your man. Few sane people now venture to the ravaged surface, aside from contractors like Darius and the smugglers who run goods between the settlements.

When Darius is tricked into reopening a mysterious shaft in an old Marauder temple, he releases a long-dormant evil and unleashes Armageddon on Mars. As Colonist and Marauder settlements are torn asunder, only Darius and the Red Faction can save mankind. The battle will take them across the storm-blasted planet--and below it, to the very heart of the unspeakable threat.

Red Faction®: Armageddon™ expands on the critically acclaimed, best-selling franchise with new, groundbreaking challenges. You are humanity’s last hope for survival.

Key features:
* Infestation Mode – Survive waves of enemy hordes in a 1-4 player cooperative, objective-based experience.
* Ruin Mode – Master the tools of destruction in competitive and casual destruction-based modes.
* Hell on Mars – Darius Mason can only watch as the surface of Mars is destroyed. Seeking solace underground, an even greater threat emerges against humanity.
* Nano Forge – Unleash the devastating force of the Nano Forge with massive concussive blasts or reconstruct downed colonist defences with Geo-Mod 2.0.
* Martian Underground – The truth behind an ancient evil will force Darius to wage a battle across the devastated Martian surface, beneath massive frozen glaciers, and over rivers of broiling magma.

6 de 10***At its core, Space Pirates and Zombies is an action based, skill oriented, top down space combat game. It’s similar to the ones we knew and loved in years past, but now using full physics simulation and modern graphics for those oh so pretty explosions. But as you dig deeper, SPAZ becomes much more.

Instead of flying a single ship, you are in charge of an ever growing and evolving fleet, unlocking the rich tactical elements of SPAZ, all accessed at the touch of a button. Issue orders, change ships, apply fleet AI settings, all on the fly. At any moment the battle can change, and the Tactics Panel gives you the tools to make the battle turn in your favor.

As a layer on top of the action and tactics, we have a detailed technology and levelup system akin to what you would expect from an RPG. Learn to build new ships by destroying your enemies. Explore the galaxy to find components, use your hard earned research points to unlock their potential, and then customize every aspect of your new fleet.

Finally, there is the universe in which all this strife and adventure takes place. SPAZ features a persistent randomly generated Galaxy populated with story elements, factions, enemies, missions, items, to provide you with a unique experience each time you play. While you are struggling to survive, uncover the secret of an ever expanding Zombie infestation that spreads by establishing its own real time multi-tiered ecosystem.

Key features:
* 33 ships to research, build, outfit and pilot.
* 70 unique components to discover and customize your fleet’s performance.
* Totally physics based combat system.
* Fight Zombie infestations, battling a full zombie ecosystem comprising four stages of un-life.
* Explore a persistent randomly generated galaxy containing hundreds of star systems.
* Freedom to explore the galaxy and take on challenges at your own pace.
* Aid, flee, or exploit the warring factions in each star system.
* The unique event system lets the player change the balance of power in any star system
* Carefully spend your hard earned research points on hundreds of upgrades across 15 categories.
