The game has similar extremely slow pace other browser-based games have (unless you enjoy grinding items and such in battles, but ultimately you have to just wait). The in-game research takes hours if not days (in real-time) to complete, and gaining even one new follower takes 30 minutes (again in real-time) by default. Although you can spend real cash to speed up gaining of followers, the game world is reset occasionally (I have no idea how often, but I'd presume at least a month passes before such happens) which puts all your progress back to 0 and the battle begins anew (and research, and gaining followers, and killing the same things, etc.). I can't imagine anyone being interested in repeating that for more than 2-3 times at most, but I can't imagine people grinding their chars to level 70 or such in [game=World of Warcraft]WoW[/game] either on weekly basis, so I guess I'm not the person to ask.[b]Factions:[/b] Covenant * Thûl * Nihilim***Although Lockpick Entertainment claims Dreamlords: The Reawakening is remake of Dreamlords, this is hardly true since Dreamlords was still in [i]closed[/i] beta late in 2008-01 (open beta sometime later), but Reawakening was released in 2008-06, leaving them only few months to remake it (I'd imagine they just fixed the bugs, renamed the game, and made a public non-beta release).

The Hunter	Emote Games (Avalanche Studios)	2009	The description for the game is very confusing (to me), but it seems this will be a free game with possibly(!) micro-transactions for different equipment and some online aspects (socializing/networking/whatever) but actual hunting is done solo. So it shares some free-to-play MMO features without being MMO, it has internet functionality without having any (real) multiplayer, and so forth. The site also promises updates that increase the complexity of the game (such as possibly including item crafting in some later update) after the initial release, so it's very likely this will be a free-to-play pseudo-multiplayer hunting game (some game devs love making these games that can't be properly categorized with old concepts nowadays).

The Sims 3	Electronic Arts (EA Redwood Shores)	2009	Way worse than Sims 2, with only a city that is terrain-fixed, and with the control of only ONE family for the sake of neighborhood aging (good concept, but stupid for a shared computer or when you simply want to play many different families) 7 de 10*Although the base game concept is interesting as social simulation game, the game only includes one small town to play in and sell additional towns as microtransactions for about 25USD/20EUR (that's for [u]single town[/u]), there's also other limitations which aren't as egregious as this. But I don't think I need to really go into detail on the game beyond this. It's a money milker for EA, but considering how successful the game has been, I rather question the players who actually fall for this rather than EA for doing it. I bought the game when it was discounted at "low" 15EUR price itself (from original 50EUR) and I can say that the game is hardly worth even that much. Maybe if it was like 10EUR with towns being 2EUR or so, I might consider it reasonable. There's also DLC expansions that cost the same as the base game itself. Unfortunately popularity (or market hype?) of Sims series has made it pretty certain there won't be any serious competition, it also allows EA to continue producing inferior games for ridiculously high price. As a game, it's decent I think, but in terms of value vs price, you're paying 100-1000 times more than you should be. Hence, don't buy any Sims games outside of significant (>60%) discounts.The game seems to have a long standing non-critical bug where the game starts freezing every few minutes. According to some players this is likely related to pathing code where some NPC gets "stuck" and can't figure out how to get their stuff done as a result. There is no real fix for this besides starting a new game which obviously doesn't prevent an NPC from getting stuck again.*The freedom of The Sims 3 will inspire you with endless creative possibilities and amuse you with unexpected moments of surprise and mischief! Hellgate	HanbitSoft	2009	Very much the same game as the original Hellgate: London with offline play removed completely and some other features added. Immediately obvious differences is the presence of item shop (microtransactions), achievements, auction house, newbie XP boost status effect, and various other features reminiscent of MMOs. The overall story is less apparent and some things in regards to the story that existed in the original are no longer in.
