1 player, or 2 Players. There is some question as to if this game was ported or programmed from scratch as the manual talks about the programmers playing the arcade game to it's completion on film for study and reference in designing the Apple ][ version. Other sources say it was ported. Perhaps the programmers, who grew up in arcades, just wanted an excuse to play Marble Madness without spending the quarters :)
