[Box blurb]***Worlds collide in Armies of Exigo, a fantasy RTS where the boundaries of the battlefield are broken and war is waged both above and below the ground. This game takes strategy to new depths as elves, beasts, knights, and creatures of the darkness are locked in an epic battle for survival.

In the world of Exigo, where peace and prosperity have reigned for years, the empires of man and beast faces their greatest threat yet. A sinister force known as The Fallen has awaken to strike where the inhabitants of this world least expect - from underground.

Users will take control of massive armies, wage wars in the forests and river valleys of the surface, then descend into the caverns and catacombs of the underworld to face off against the dark evil.

Armies on all sides will have the ability to delve deep underground to travel unseen by foes or borrow up to the surface to unleash powerful attacks on unsuspecting enemies. The gamer must devise never before deployed strategies for combat and defense as attacks can come from all directions.

Conquer as the heavily fortified Empire and control an army of knights, dwarves, elves and gnomes. Ravage the plains with the nomadic Beasts, leading tribes of ogres, trolls and other fantastic creatures. Emerge from deep to consume the world of light with The Fallen – a powerful force of dark elves, fallen warriors, swarming insects and other horrific creatures of the dark.

Engage in an epic three-part single player campaign and save the world of Exigo from the evil that threatens to plunge the world into darkness. Or go online for massive multiplayer skirmishes with up to eight players striving to conquer the surface and underworld. Success can only be achieved through a balance of military might and strategic alliances.

Battlezone II: FleshStorm Lizard2006FleshStorm is set approximately 20 years after the events featured in the Forgotten Enemies expansion and the universe is a very different place indeed. The old empires have fallen, ground into the dust and crushed under the jackboot of terran imperialism. All for the love of power. In the hyper-real combat experience of Command & Conquer, you're thrust into the heat of an all out race for global control. Command & Conquer  Virgin (Westwood Studios)1995It's a classic real-time strategy game. There exist two parties, NOD and GDI. Both have different units and structures. The game features about 15 mission on each side. In most missions you have to build a base first to build new units and structures. Special harvesters collect the so-called "Tiberium" and convert it to money in a reffinery. The game features fmv after every mission.***Review for add-on "The Covert Operations" ("Opérations Survie" in French).
[84]***One add-on was released: The Covert Operations, in 1996, added 15 new missions (7 for GDI, 8 for NOD).***
[22]***Diverges from real-world's timeline with a meteorite crashing down near river Tiber in Italy, introducing an alien substance to Earth dubbed Tiberium. Secret society known as Brotherhood of Nod had somehow predicted this event and had developed technologies to harvest Tiberium, much ahead of anyone else (presumably prior to the meteorite falling down on Earth).***Command & Conquer is possibly the most imitated game in the PC's history. Indeed, the game itself is far from original, borrowing heavily from Westwood's previous work (and inventor of the real-time strategy genre) Dune II. In C&C's favour, it improved on its forbear in many crucial areas, not least Dune II's interface which was clunky and unintuitive at best. Improvements were also made in graphics and sound, giving the whole package a more polished feel.
All in all, C&C was a technically excellent game which many gamers hold dear.

In 1996 the released an additional mission-cd titled "Command & Conquer: The Covert Operations", featuring 15 more difficult missions and a hidden dinosaur campaign.
MS-DOSlabelimagesubject
Command & Conquer  Westwood (Virgin)1996Command & Conquer develops ideas from Westwood's previous game Dune 2, forming a real-time strategy (RTS) game. The control system involves selecting units with the mouse and then directing them, while the opponents make their moves without waiting for a "turn" to end.

The game focuses on a war between two organizations, The Brotherhood of Nod and the Global Defense Initiative. The player can take control of either side for more than 15 missions. Both have different units and structures, including artillery, tanks and light infantry.

In most missions, a base needs to be built first in order to build new units and structures. Most important are the harvesters, which collect Tiberium and deliver it to a refinery, where it's converted into money, thus funding the construction of a base and an army.

The game also features FMV mission briefings and victory cutscenes.***

Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath  Electronic Arts (EA Los Angeles)2008Far more enjoyable to play than the base CnC3 in my experience, and the difficulty options actually work properly in this. In terms of story, Kane's Wrath is sort of a filler, covering things between second and third tiberium wars, clarifying some events of third tiberium war and shows part of the events leading to CnC4. If anyone is ever interested in CnC3, then this is the only reason to get it, besides following the story of Kane (Tiberium series) if you're into that sort of thing. Thisis also very much focused on mutliplayer experience as the story only allows you to play with Nod and its sub-factions and only cursorily demonstrating the new sub-factions for GDI and Scrin.***In the name of Kane! Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars  Electronic Arts (EA Los Angeles)2007CnC3 is probably the hardest strategy game I know, and not because the AI is that good, but because it cheats so much. Even on the so called easy difficulty the game is frustratingly hard to even barely win (later) missions. Besides that I still like it, especially the revised GDI and the all new Scrin faction. As a game I would not recommend this to anyone but the masochistic players or diehard Tiberium series fans.***Latest version: 1.09 (as of ?)***March, 2047. A massive nuclear fireball explodes high in the night sky, marking the dramatic beginning to the Third Tiberium War and long-awaited return of the most groundbreaking Real-time Strategy franchise (RTS) of all time.

The critically-acclaimed Command & Conquer (C&C) series returns with Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars (C&C 3). Setting the standard for the future of RTS gaming once more, C&C 3 takes you back to where it all began—the Tiberium Universe.

In 2047, Tiberium has blanketed the Earth, which is now divided into zones based on the level of Tiberium infestation. Pristine Blue Zones represent 20% of the planet's surface and are the last refuge of the civilized world. Partially habitable Yellow Zones make up 50% of the planet's surface; most of the world's population lives in these war-torn and ecologically ravaged areas. The remaining 30% of the planet is uninhabitable, a Tiberium wasteland swept by violent Ion Storms. Red Zones are like the surface of an Alien planet.

The infamous Kane has returned to lead the Brotherhood of Nod in a massive global assault on the Global Defense Initiative and the few remaining Blue zones left on the planet. Only you can stop him. The fate of humanity – and the planet – is in your hands.

Featuring state-of-the-art, next-generation graphics, an epic story with live action, full-motion video sequences, and the classic fast-paced C&C style of play, C&C 3 sets the standard for the single player RTS experience.

When you decide to test your skills online, a suite of truly innovative features, such as the ability to transform online battles into a spectator sport, unfold.

Welcome back, Commander.

Command & Conquer: Generals Electronic Arts (EA Pacific)2003A new chapter in the Command & Conquer universe, set somewhere in the 2020s, pits three sides for global domination: the United States of America, the People's Republic of China and the Global Liberation Army (GLA).

Generals features real world (renamed or slightly altered) weapons combined with quasi-high-tech ones, new control schemes and a fast-paced multiplayer. Generals is the first game in the Command & Conquer series not to include FMV or pre-rendered cutscenes between missions, and was also the first C&C game without the Westwood Studios label (although the development studio was initially called Westwood Pacific before being merged into EA Pacific). It uses a full 3D environment powered by the SAGE engine, a modified version of the W3D engine previously seen in C&C: Renegade.

The core gameplay differs somewhat from other games in the series, a move done in order to modernize the formula. First off, construction yards are absent, as structures are built by dozers for the USA and China, and workers for the GLA. The sidebar is replaced with the bottom bar, and support powers are "purchased" with leveling up as a general, which is done through participating in combat. For the first time in the series, each factory-type structure (barracks, war factory, airfield...) has its own build queue, in the same fashion as in Blizzard's RTS titles before it, instead of having a shared one like in the previous C&C games. Upgrades are available for the first time in the series as well, bringing improvements to units and structures. Everything is paid for in advance instead of having credits slowly drain as the object is constructed.***

With the Brotherhood of Nod fractured into feuding warlords following Kane’s death, Anton Slavik (also called The Serbian Wolf) is determined to keep Kane’s ideology alive through the resurrection of Nod’s highly advanced artificial intelligence, CABAL (Computer Assisted Biologically Augmented Lifeform), while the Global Defense Initiative continues its ongoing campaign to stop the spread of Tiberium and its monstrous mutations by retrieving the extraterrestrial Tacitus device.

GDI and Nod must now join forces in order to overcome Nod’s previous vital assistant in tactical decisions and their current nemesis, CABAL, who intends to conquer the world through the systematic assimilation of human populations into its cyborg armies with the means of Tiberium on a massive scale.

2006 First public release

At the time of writing, the game is still in alpha. We (UVL management) should consider this "finished" (as in, set the release date for) when the game has implemented everything everything in the core components and reqs described in this page. However, unlike many other games listed as "in development" here on UVL, Dwarf Fortress is quite playable already.

Following concepts were found in future plans for DF:
diplomacy
,
ruins
,
a-life
,
magic
,
natural disasters
,
dimensional travel
,
trading
,
hunger
,
outlaws
,
literal experience
,
injuries
,
taxes
,
stealth
,
item durability
,
riding
, ...

Kharak, a barren wasteland orbiting an insignificant star, has been our home for as long as we can remember. Until now, only vague myths of our past remained, then then came the discovery: an ancient tablet long hidden in the Great Banded Desert, buried within the wreckage of a half-destroyed spacecraft. Now we know, this planet is not ours. We have been driven away from our Homeworld by conquerors, and billions of our people are dead. It is now time to leave this cold, lifeless planet. It is time to return Home.
