Personal review
"Meitantei Holmes: Kiri no London Satsujin Jiken" is the second game based on famous detective Sherlock Holmes for the NES from Towachiki. In contrast to the first game, the totally crappy Sherlock Holmes: Hakushaku Reijou Yuukai Jiken they chose to create a standard Japanese menu-driven adventure game. Not very imaginative, but at least this time the game works well enough. On a map of London you walk to different places, question people, solve some puzzles etc. Being in Japanese its hard to follow the story and thus didn't develop its strength for me. Graphically the game only features monotone background scene graphics. Technically it looks a bit cheap, but in this special case it fits the atmosphere positively. In the end it is exactly what you would expect from an average Japanese murder mystery adventure game.
