Personal review

Son Son is a conversion of a rather unknown Capcom arcade game and was only released in Japan. You control a monkey named Son Son on his way through 19 stages towards a heaven-like place. When you select 2-player mode Son Son is accompanied by his pig friend Ton Ton, which is controlled by the second player. You can jump up and down platforms and shoot incoming enemies. The levels are scrolling automatically. An overall average shooting/platform hybrid. At least it spawned eventually a much better sequel (Son Son II) for the PC-Engine a few years later.
