Bit of a fanatic about this game! managed about 6 complete cycles on the arcade maxing the '% complete' to 999 before needing to go home.

On the screen shot... nice bug for these second round 'bosses' is that if you have the green weapon selected as it comes on the screen and then switch to the red weapon then the boss will be destroyed v. quickly.

Works on other bosses too if you're lucky enough to be able to switch when they're on screen, e.g. pink meteor with the 'four-shooters' on the tracks, if you switch to the blue laser from the red shot the 'trackers' are destroyed in less than a second.

We believe this is because as the boss comes on the screen it registers which weapon you have and determines how many shots it will take with that weapon... so never switch from blue laser to green otherwise you'll be in for a beating :)

Whilst on the subject of quirks, quite a lot of intermediate bosses can be destroyed by simply sitting in the middle at the bottom of the screen since the shots fired at you are in a pattern that spreads either side of you. very handy if you don't have 5 spare bombs coming into the 'onion rings' after the first tank boss and later on with the 'satellites' before the third 'water spider' boss.

Anyone else crazy about this game?

A very hard space-forwardscrolling-shoot'em-up. The game takes forever to play through and it takes 200% to get through the game.
