Besides that, the concepts and gameplay elements they've invented up are quite refreshing, but don't do much in the light of the bugs that prevent you from enjoying it.

After crashing or otherwise exhibiting bugs, it is good idea to exit the game and delete Alone_Data_DFE folder and possibly drm_dyndata_*.dll file in the system temp folder. Removing these seems to at least temporarily fix any bugging, until Eden Games releases a patch for the issues.***EU 2008-06-20

Another World  Lexicon Entertainment (Icculus;DotEmu)20132013-09-16 saw the release of the native version of this game. It had been enjoyed by Linux gamers previously via engine remakes, visualization, and emulation, with several official outlets providing these options as well. Icculus noted many features of this game made porting simpler than usually. The game has already gotten the OpenGL treatment with the Mac 20th Anniversary Edition. The game originally used a virtual machine to run data, meaning only the virtual machine needed porting rather than the entire game. The 20th Anniversary Edition also saw virtual machine ported to C++ (the original was assembly); Icculus didn't even need to port that, it compiled as-is. The original used textured polygons construed from vector graphics (revolutionary at the time). This was virtually a separate feature from the rest of the game. Both the 20th Anniversary Edition and original were never hard coding their graphics to the video RAM (except for the background image). So this bit can easily be sent to the GPU, no CPU entanglements, no RAM entanglements. What's left to do is, get the image to the desktop, get the sound to speakers, get the input (keybooard or gamepad) to the machine.

This native port allows for playing the original or the enhanced 20th Anniversary Edition.

For Desmond, this is the life of Altaïr Ibn La-Ahad (الطائر), an assassin who lived during the Third Crusade in 1191. Although the story skips the kidnapping and starts with Desmond jagged into the Animus and experiencing some synchronization issues with it.

The game is difficult to categorize and abundantly lampshaded by the fact that most of the game takes place inside the Animus which has been created to produce a video game like experience, so effectively you're playing a video game inside a video game. And the experience produced by the Animus is an abstraction of sorts with various alterations that make it easier for the user to operate it, such as translating all languages to plain English and so forth. So any inconsistencies with reality are due to that, and since memories aren't exactly logical 1 to 1 copies of reality, much illogical instances can occur, some of which can be interpreted to mean some very strange things.

Things you may need to replay the whole game for:
In memory block 4, you have a chance to pickpocket Vidic to get his security pen. This opportunity does not represent itself and replaying the memory block later does not roll back time in the "real world".

After the credits you gain access to the conference room where you need Vidic's pen to access a computer, but there's nothing else after that besides your ability to replay the memory blocks and aim for 100% completion (collecting all the flags, killing the templars, scouting, and doing all the side tasks).
***Minimum:

Global tensions have reached boiling point as the U.S. and North Korea square off in the South China Sea. At stake: a mysterious artifact uncovered by a team of U.S. archeologists.

The North Korean government quickly seizes the area, prompting the U.S. to dispatch an elite team of Delta Force operatives on a rescue mission. During the siege the true nature of the artifact quickly emerges, pointing to the existence of an alien presence on Earth, and ultimately the trigger for a massive-scale alien invasion.

The battle to save Earth begins as the aliens' flash freeze the tropics into a ghostly-white frozen landscape.

As gamers take up arms against the aliens, they will be outfitted with customisable weapons and a high tech nano-suit, allowing them to adapt their tactics and abilities to a hostile, ever-changing environment and a mysterious enemy.

You are the once-trusted bodyguard of the beloved Empress. Framed for her murder, you become an infamous assassin, known only by the disturbing mask that has become your calling card. In a time of uncertainty, when the city is besieged by plague and ruled by a corrupt government armed with industrial technologies, dark forces conspire to bestow upon you abilities beyond those of any common man – but at what cost? The truth behind your betrayal is as murky as the waters surrounding the city, and the life you once had is gone forever.

Key features:
Improvise and Innovate
Approach each assassination with your own style of play. Use shadow and sound to your advantage to make your way silently through levels unseen by foes, or attack enemies head-on as they respond to your aggression. The flexible combat system allows you to creatively combine your abilities, supernatural powers and gadgets as you make your way through the levels and dispatch your targets. Improvise and innovate to define your play style.
Action with Meaning
The world of Dishonored reacts to how you play. Move like a ghost and resist corruption, or show no mercy and leave a path of destruction in your wake. Decide your approach for each mission, and the outcomes will change as a result.
Supernatural Abilities
Teleport for stealth approaches, possess any living creature, or stop time itself to orchestrate unearthly executions! Combining your suite of supernatural abilities and weapons opens up even more ways to overcome obstacles and eliminate targets. The game’s upgrade system allows for the mastery of deadly new abilities and devious gadgets.
A City Unlike Any Other

Doukutsu Monogatari  Pixel2004Game description from [[link:http://agtp.romhack.net/ Aeon Genesis]]:

Cave Story is a freeware sidescrolling action/adventure/platformer title with leanings towards Wonderboy and recent sidescrolling Castlevania titles. You control a little amnesiac who runs around helping out these rabbit-ish creatures called Mimigas while trying to find your way out of the giant cave inside the floating island which makes up the game's setting. You can expand your health meter by collecting Life Capsules in similar fashion to Metroid games, while you can get stronger by collecting energy to boost your firearms' output. Each weapon can be built up to the maximum level (3) fairly quickly, but taking damage will drain energy from its experience meter, sometimes causing it to level down. Given how quickly they power up this only tends to be an issue during boss fights, and even then there's usually plenty of opportunities for collecting more weapon energy. The game has loads of secrets, too. Shih Tzu and I haven't found everything, and we've each played it through a couple of times (not to mention having read the script.) It's pretty awesome that way. For a freeware Japanese platformer, it's fairly lengthy and has quite a large amount of text. I'd guesstimate that each playthrough, provided you knew what you were doing, would take about 4-6 hours. Tack on an extra couple of hours if you don't know what you're doing, possibly for extreme problems with nasty bosses (which this game has plenty of, especially towards the end.) We're also talking three very different endings, plenty of plot, and quite a cast of charming characters. It really is a superb little gem :)

Duke Nukem Forever  Take-Two Interactive (Gearbox Software;Piranha Games;Triptych Games)2011Surfaced now and then between 1997-2010 or so, earning itself the status as the best known vaporware.***Un juego gamberro, soez y de acción y destrucción absurdas.

De todas formas: Hail to the king.

Gears of War 2  Microsoft Game Studios (Epic Games)2008Gears of War 2 builds upon the gameplay of the first title in every way. First, the scope of the action is bigger: new characters, more weapons, nastier enemies, bigger vehicles, and grander locales offer more action, more emotion, and more thrills. Next, every major aspect of the game has been refined to create heightened, more immersive experiences. Finally, the overall tone of Gears of War 2 is more badass: replete with new weapon-specific executions, chainsaw duels, and shocking boss fights. Gears of War 2 raises the graphics bar for next-generation games through its breathtaking visual effects, which are made possible through advances in Unreal Engine 3. New visual effects include ambient occlusion, dynamic shadows, improved character lighting, the ability to render hundreds of on-screen characters simultaneously, improved water physics, additional blood and bullet decals, advanced destructible environments, new weather effects, and the introduction of fluid objects. When combined with the sweeping vistas and evocative locales in the world of Sera where the Gears of War 2 story unfolds, these additions help make this the most gorgeous game available this generation. Gears of War 2 continues to push deep, immersive storytelling in video games to greater heights. Humanity's epic battle for survival is felt on both the personal and epic levels as you explore multiple story arcs that introduce new characters and flesh out the histories of familiar ones. A new in-game conversational camera system also helps bring the compelling story to life in a cinematic fashion.***2008-02-20 Announced X360labelimagesubject

However, they fail to realize a simple fact: default movement mode is already running (this is fairly obvious, which makes me wonder how people manage to miss it). The thing they think is running is literally sprinting largely accomplished by the aid of the HEV suit (a type of utility power armor) Gordon is wearing. So the sprint expends the same suit energy your flashlight uses. However there is obvious discrepancy in the amount of energy used.***Minimum:

Valve Software/Vivendi Universal Gameswon the 5th annual (2005) Game developers Choice Awards - Best Writing. Marc Laidlaw was designated in the nomination.

From the official site:
By taking the suspense, challenge and visceral charge of the original, and adding startling new realism and responsiveness, Half-Life 2 opens the door to a world where the player's presence affects everything around him, from the physical environment to the behaviors -- even the emotions -- of both friends and enemies.

The player again picks up the crowbar of research scientist Gordon Freeman, who finds himself on an alien-infested Earth being picked to the bone, its resources depleted, its populace dwindling. Freeman is thrust into the unenviable role of rescuing the world from the wrong he unleashed back at Black Mesa. And a lot of people -- people he cares about -- are counting on him.
