Aiming is (almost) completely automated with player only needing to press attack button to successfully and accurately hit their opponents. Commonly includes target lock functionality to offer greater control.

Notable people involved: Hibiki Godai, John P. Conley, C. Daron Stinnett, Mike Laidlaw and Scylla Costa

Alternate name: Auto-aim

See also: aim assist (slight correction to aiming rather full automation), target lock
This may be limited in the manner that the automatic aiming only targets enemies on screen, so player still needs to turn the camera at least a little to deal with enemies in different direction, but overall it doesn't matter where the enemies are. Or the character shoots "only" in 180 degree arc. This turns into aim assist below 45 degrees though anything between 180 and 45 degrees is a gray area in terms of assisting/automating aim (probably better to call it auto-aim).
