Player can give NPCs objects outside of dialogs and other regular item transfer prompts.


Alternate names: Giving, Object transfer

The first video game about Gifting was released on November 8, 1995.

Common in adventure games, rarer in others. Usually a separate command "give" is used to accomplish this. Some games may allow reaching a dead end by this with unrelated NPC accepting an object vital for the plot and there's no way to re-obtain it.

This is primarily for things related to the main plot, any side activities related to this should not be tagged.

* NOT for shop or trade screens.
* NOT for options in dialog to give something to characters (unless it's a generic give which opens up your inventory where you can freely select any object)
* NOT for characters in your own group if you have access to their inventories and such
