For contrary games released in times when, or on systems where, the majority could be played indefinitely without encountering a definitive ending scene/screen or a proper denouement.

Note, many games were designed to be played until the player died. Also, there may be conditions by which produce a killscreen is reached. These are almost certainly not proper endings. However, not 100% of these are without an intended ending. Missile Command, for example, was fully intended by the creator to end with the complete destruction of all the cities the player is tasked with defending, the complete irradiation of the Earth, and the death of all life. Total defeat is the intended ending (The only winning move is not to play).
