Cheap implementation of LoS.
Combining with LoS tag is useful only when the map is blackened/unknown at first, revealed on exploration, and a shroud/fog remains instead of blackening the visited places again once you have no units who can see there. A sort of memory aide, if you wish, mostly useful for recognizing already explored territories and as planning aide for future activities.
