Game genre theme

A scenario where the player navigates labyrinthine "dungeons" in search of treasure and evil to vanquish. Used frequently in older RPGs, especially early video game RPGs, and is often treated as a sub-genre of them as such.

Originates from the P&P RPGs but gained fame on computer gaming side due to their simplicity, both in making and playing.

Not all dungeon crawlers are set in proper dungeons.

The first Dungeon Crawler video game was released in 1974.
