Alternate names: Lashes, Chains

The first video game about Whips was released on September 26, 1986.

Konami, Capcom and Sony Computer Entertainment has published most of these games

Includes cat o' nine tails, scourge, and others. As well as long-ish chains and ropes with possibly something attached at the end. Most flails and similar should probably be considered too short for this.

Prime candidates for this are long rope-ish weapons that tangle or stop at the first thing hit, but games have a habit of making every weapon cleave through all opponents as if they were nothing more substantial than air, so this should not be a limiting trait.

Whips not used as weapons usually belong to what grappling hook tag describes.
