The Jedi signature lightsaber was originally a ceremonial weapon around 26 thousand years ago, it turned into an energy weapon around 15 thousand years ago (vibroblades were used prior), and finally reached its miniaturized form about 7 thousand years ago (before this they were wired to a separate power pack on the wielder's waist and had some other more pertinent issues besides the wires). No game is set in such ancient times yet, though some comics and books are.
