High fantasy's position as the most widely used fantasy genre has had the unfortunate effect that many equate the whole fantasy genre with what high fantasy is.

These are unlikely to be situated on Earth as we know it.

These should not be automatically marked as "epic" despite the alternate name of "epic fantasy".
