Pterosaurs, including pteranodon or pterodactyls, are not actually dinosaurs. Neither are Dimetrodon, Albertochampsa, Icaronycteris, or Plesiosaur.
Paleocene Dinosaurs
A not currently accepted hypothesis that states that despite the overall devastation of the Dinosaurs at the end of the Cretaceous period, a few species and isolated populations amounting to a minuscule and insignificant portion of their former numbers may have lingered for eras afterworld; but lacking their former diversity, distribution, and ideal environments, were still doomed to eventual extinction. Such evidence exists but is inconclusive. Such as pollen from Paleocene plants being found in the remains of dinosaurs and lack of any Cretaceous pollen. The excepted excuse, is that these remains were naturally unburied, all the Cretaceous organisms where naturally cleansed from the remains, the remains then contacted many Paleocene organisms, then were subsequently naturally reburied. But none of the nearby fossils experienced the same process.
The possibility remains that palaeontologists still don't know what they are talking about (they have a long history of that)
