Alternate names: Hobbits, Kender

This is NOT for the half-human, half something else halflings.
Tolkien Hobbits
Hobbits are from Middle-earth while Kender are from Dragonlance.

Halflings
Halflings are varyingly described as peaceful people who enjoy quiet life or jolly thieves who exhibit traits of kleptomania. There are several instances where they're also described as barbarians (e.g. Eberron) of varying style, even going so far as cannibalism (e.g. Dark Sun).

Homo Floresiensis (Ebu Gogo)
A real species of small hominid that has been nicknamed 'Hobbits'. Discovered in 2003, science has not yet unanimously agreed on what they are. But as of 2009, there Genus is listed as Homo (Man) which puts them beside the Homo Sapiens, Erectus, Neanderthalensis, etc... Species. (Modern humans are are classed as a subspecies of Homo Sapiens, aka: Homo Sapiens Sapiens). Some scientists have made the claim that they should moved up that tree as a new be a species and genus of Homini between Man and Pan (Chmips) with both being decedents of it. Note that some scientists always claim this about anything. But other scientists say Homo Floresiensis is just another subspecies of Sapiens or even an ordinary human with unique traits, condition, or disease. Regardless, when the Man of Florence makes his videogame appearance, he should get his own UVL group. Until then, he'll have to make due with this entry due to his nickname.
