Class-based system where player can select multiple classes, though usually limited to 2 or 3. This often limits the development of the primary class.

Note that this covers both simultaneous and sequential multi-classing.

However, this does NOT cover sub-classing in terms of sequential multi-classing, because the sub-classes are generally specializations for the primary class and can't be taken without the primary class. They can therefore be thought of as farther progression of the primary class. In MMOs, usually there's two sub-class choices for each parent class.
